4.0 out of 5 stars For the price, pretty good!
For the price, this is a pretty good little light.

First, I purchased the similar but slightly cheaper Intermatic LT13 but it has the cheap twist-lock top that I hate and that always ends up coming off and on sitting on the side of my driveway.

The CL191 is stronger and more solid, and hardly more expensive at all.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good light but connections are not durable enough
My garden was already pre-wired with low voltage power systems so adding Malibu ligthing units as become a regular occurence. We tried 'green' solar powered lights to try and save the expense but found that they had a very cold blue-ish light which does not compare to the warmer yellow-ish light which comes from these low-voltage units. Malibu do a resonably good job...

The drawback of these cheap lights in general is that the small spike they come with is too short and a deer or anything brushing it could knock it over.

So, the trick that I like to think that I invented was to get a piece of rebar...3/8" I think, by about 2 feet long. Then drive it into the ground with a little single jack (mini sledge hammer). Then, ditch the spike that comes with this light and slip the stem of the fixture over the rebar. It fits perfectly and is a much stronger foundation for the light than the flimsy spike it comes with.

The light that this fixture puts out over the LT13 is much more even and pleasant, too.

Overall, if you're looking at this review, you're probably debating between this and the LT13 and I would definitely go for this one!

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it IS a somewhat cheap light and not a perfect product because the stake it weak, but with my customization I think it's pretty solid.

I just installed 4 of these (and just ordered 2 more) on my driveway with a 131 watt transformer. Amazon price is very good.

These are some kind of lightweight metal. They are not heavy like the 110volt fixtures I replaced. They will not survive a car hitting them, but to be honest, even my heavier ones did not.

This is a good value, but I found this: (i) the screws on the top were screwed on too tight on some of these, and they easily scratch if the screwdriver slips off; (ii) the diffuser is plastic (may actually be a benefit - my older ones were glass and broke); and (iii) the bulbs are very fragile.

The 11 watt light is remarkably bright . . . I was afraid they would not be bright but they are fine.

Be sure to follow instructions. For example, the first light has to be within 10 feet of the transformer. I ran 100 ft and put the 4th light at the bottom and it is equally as bright as the first.

Malibu do a resonably good job with these but the connections to the powerlines can be difficult (they have a patented connection system which requires a lot of pressure and the use of pliers) and fails in 10-20% of cases. Also the lights look great when first installed but I don't think I've had one that has lasted over 24months (they tend to fill with water or the wiring fails) and need to be replaced.

We bought a couple of these to replace our broken plastic ones; what an improvement! Highly recommended, we ended up ordering more of the same. Good price here on Amazon, compared to local hardware stores. Theses also install at a higher level in the ground, compared to the plastic ones, which is a good thing.
One caveat, and the only reason they did not get 5 stars: These are just a little hard to unscrew the top, which you will need to do to install the bulbs, as the 3 large flat screw slots were painted over, and really took some effort to get started. We found you must use the largest screwdriver you have, and give it a good hard tap with a hammer before trying to unscrew them, otherwise the slot will become scarred up and still will not unscrew.
I am sure I will order more, as the last of my plastic ones wear out!

These lights are great. All metal construction, good light output and sturdy. Quick and easy installation, all the lights worked the first time. The only thing I'd could ask for is a class diffuser. I know that the plastic one it them will probably get brittle in a couple of years time. I hope not, but previous experience with the Malibu's tells me it will. Luckily it is very protected, so shouldn't be easily damaged even if it does get brittle. Great price on Amazon makes them even that much better.

I ordered a set of ten (10) and all worked except one. I had to rewire the connector to the main line and it worked fine. The quality of these lights are much better than the plastic ones and they look nicer.

Product is very nice, unlike the less costly plastic lamps, this baby is solid. A bit more effort needed to replace the bulb, but that also keeps the top from coming off on a windy day.

Worth the $

Light seems well constructed. The bulb is easy to replace. I wish the lamp pole were taller (its less than 12 inches), buy I would buy again.

AFTER THREE MONTHS OF BEING OUT IN THE ELEMENTS THE FINISH ON THE LIGHTS IS FLAKING OFF DOWN TO OXIDIZED METAL. THESE DO NOT HOLD UP IN OUTDOOR NORTH EAST WEATHER.

I purchased 20 or these for a landscape project. They are well made of steel instead of plastic and have an excellent spike. The 11 Watt bulb will provide alot more light than the cheap 4 watt standard landscape light.
