The all metal spot seems to be well made, and throws plenty of light. Mine is lighting up a yard fountain. BUT, halogen bulbs and the entire lamp get very hot!

These are high quality, cast aluminum and a glass lens, and age very well. A little bit higher in cost than the some others, but you only buy these once, so go for the best. They look great and work perfectly too.
