Customer Reviews

It was very easy to program.

I like that since it's digital, it lets me enter exactly what times I want to set (unlike the pegs on analog timers).

I have 2 of these that I bought at Lowes a couple of years ago and I love them.

If you buy this item from the listed supplier, they will send you a DIFFERENT item without telling you. You will be sent an Intermatic DT121C NON-GROUNDED timer. If you use it thinking that you got the GROUNDED timer as described, you could get SHOCKED and/or START A FIRE. They are describing a HEAVY-DUTY GROUNDED TIMER, but they are shipping a timer that is neither grounded nor is it heavy-duty. Order DT17C from another supplier, NOT this one.

Assuming you're ok with having an ungrounded timer (previous review), this is an excellent light timer. I've tried 2 other Intermatic digital timers, and this one is by far the simplest to use. There are only 2 on and 2 off settings, but usually that's really all you need. I like that since it's digital, it lets me enter exactly what times I want to set (unlike the pegs on analog timers). The 4 buttons are intuitive and don't require me to pull out the instructions every time I want to adjust the times. I love the +/- buttons because if you overshoot the time you want, you can just push the opposite button to back up instead of looping all the way through 24 hours again.

The DT300 7-day digital timer is also nice, but not as intuitive (I keep the instructions close), and I realized I simply don't need so many options. The DT500 was awful and I don't recommend it (like a bad digital version of an analog timer).

If you're looking for a no-frills, easy-to-use, digital light timer, this one will definitely do the trick.

I use several of these timers to control lights. It's easy for me to program, unlike the complicated GE timer I purchased from Lowes. Part of my issue with the GE timers is the very poor instruction sheet. The Intermatic Timers work for me - don't stop making them!

I originally purchased this same timer 8 years ago and it just stopped working. When I went to Home Depot to purchase a new one, I was informed that they no longer carry it (of course), so I purchased a new one. The new timer was WAY too complicated and the timer face was impossible to see. Long story short, I ordered this model from Aubuchon Hardware and it's the exact model I originally owned. It arrived without any problems, was easy to program, is very easy to read and works great. I like it so much, I ordered another one for future use. The two event format is perfect.

I got this for one purpose but it could fit many uses. I like falling asleep to my fan but I do not want it running when I wake up because it makes it harder for me to wake when the sound of my fan is still soothing me.

Takes a minute to get use to the control but it is very easy to understand. It allows a couple stop times and a couple start times. You don't need to set that many but you have that many spaces. These is a simple on/off button as well, you don't need to just wait for a set time for it to kick in.

It only has one plug-in but I hooked up an extension cord with 3 sockets with no troubles.

As noted in other review(s), the DT121C is a non-grounded (2-prong) device. Also be aware, neither the unit nor the packaging display the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification. The packaging does display the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) mark for US and Canadian use. I am not a safety or standards expert, but UL certification usually provides a reassurance that an electrical device has been tested and approved. Is CSA fully equivalent? Maybe, but most devices sold in the US carry the UL listing.

Have used Intermatic model (DT1) timers for 10+ years and never had problem, but needed additional timers and this model appeared to be most similar to older model. The DT1 model carried a UL listing.

Like other reviewers, I found this timer easy to set. It works very well and the two settings are sufficient for me. It is a simpler unit, for example you can't set different times for different days. But, if all you need is a timer for repetitive times and not the other bells and whistles, this is an excellent and well-priced timer.

I have 2 of these that I bought at Lowes a couple of years ago and I love them. They come with a included button battery to hold the settings in the event of a power outage. So I ordered 2 of these on Amazon because I could not find them anywhere else. The only complaint that I have is that new out of the package, the battery was showing low. so now Ii have to go find a new button battery that fits it. That is really my only complaint.
