4.0 out of 5 stars Also consider the HA18C
The HA06 is great and was a snap to set up with my Harmony 890, but it was controlling a fluorescent light. In the off position most Z-Wave devices leak a bit of voltage (this is not unique to the HA06 nor does it affect normal lights) which causes fluorescent lights to flicker. The Intermatic Home Settings Three-Way In-Wall Switch #HA18C (search for B000WS4SIU) may be...

If it wasn't for the vendor being very helpful they would have been on the curb in Tuesday's trash.

2 of 3: The 'toggle' switch below the main switch is flimsy and faulty. If I keep it hard in the on position it causes me no grief. I've learned to keep it from being an issue, but regardless it's...

Replacement: Same as #3
Reaction time is a little slow for a z-wave device, even when you use the physical switch.
I'd recommend them for rooms that are not priority that you still want z-wave capabilities or I wouldn't recommend them at all. With my experience the reliability isn't there from one switch to the next.
Honestly, spend the extra on Leviton. Guaranteed to work, better design and quality and no hassle.

4.0 out of 5 stars works with schlage, April 14, 2010

I bought these switches to go with my Schlage Link system. They work well with the system, with some limitations. They will not work as a dimmer for cfl bulbs, and have a hard time with 12volt lighting systems. Other than that, they work great.

Purchased 2 of these to control my living room high hat lights with my harmony 890pro. Installation was simple and adding them to the harmony was easy, was able to control all levels, dim and add to a scene for home theater movie viewing. I have not had any of the problems others have mentioned, these worked flawlessly. I would purchase again and would recommend to others.

1.0 out of 5 stars simple design & unreliable dimmer, January 19, 2009
This review is from: Intermatic HA06C Indoor Wall Switch (Electronics)
I've initially hesitated to buy this dimmer since hearing about the unreliability of Intermatic Z-wave products. I purchased it thinking that it was half the price of similar products but alas, the switch doesn't work all the time and it takes multiple clicks to turn on/off, if it does it all. The bottom toggle switch (called "air gap") is clumsy and a hack. I ended up throwing in trash and replaced with a Leviton Z-wave switch which works wonders.

5.0 out of 5 stars Home automation made simple, January 20, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had an X-10 automation system put in my kitchen remodeling project and it died about three years later. X-10 is subject to a great deal of interference and is a technology no longer worth investing in since there's Z-Wave. My Z-Wave system has worked flawlessly and with modules like these it's easy to add automation all around the house.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fire Hazard, October 10, 2009
This review is from: Intermatic HA06C Indoor Wall Switch (Electronics)
I purchased 4 of these after previous success with the plug in modules. I too found out the hard way that they do not work with CFL's. So I put in regular incandescent lights and 1 hour later I heard a pop and smoke started pluming out of the switch. I switched off the breaker and double checked the wiring. My wiring was fine but the switch was burned up internally. I promptly replaced and returned all 4 switches. If I hadn't been home it could have set our house on fire. I still use the plug modules with no problems but am leary about in wall modules.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as versatile as lamp dimmer but more convenient, December 12, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Intermatic HA06C Indoor Wall Switch (Electronics)
I bought this switch to replace a floor lamp on a lamp dimmer that I had been using with my Logitech Harmony 890 so that anyone walking into the room could turn on the floor lamp without having to use the remote. Sounds simple, right? Wrong!

First, installation was easy: black wire to hot/feed/line; blue wire to load. This is great because it works in the two different methods for wiring a light or receptacle that is switched from one place. Due to the lack of a neutral connection, this dimmer leaks much more voltage than the plug-in lamp dimmers. This, to me, is a major downside and I wouldn't mind the option to connect a neutral to reduce this line leakage across the load.

Second, it is rated at a minimum of 40 watts and maximum of 300 watts. Great! I have a halogen lamp rated at 300 watts! Wrong again! First, lamp would not turn on. Checked function with a simple incandescent lamp, works great for dimming! So fine, i'll rip out the dimmer module in the floor lamp and it'll work. So that being said and done, the dimmer works but flickers the halogen lamp at a rate that can be noticed. Well, now i need to buy a different floor lamp - the most basic one i can find (30 dollars) without a dimmer. Finally, success but at the cost of a new lamp. Mind you, my halogen worked perfectly fine with the dimmer module installed on the wall-receptacle lamp dimmer module HA03C.

Finally, to squash some incorrect reviews, it CAN be included in scenes - works perfectly fine with other devices on my Harmony Remote. Second, of course it only controls the local light!!!! it's wired in the wall!!!!

I gave this four stars and not less only because it does do exactly as advertised: replaces a standard switch with the typical functions while still allowing the control from Z-wave controllers. Additionally the instructions aren't really clear so if you don't have previous experience with Z-wave devices, i wouldn't recommend this as a first.

It doesn't get 5 stars because it doesn't perform as well as the plug-in lamp dimmer modules for flexibility among lamps. Basically, make sure you have a very simple on-off incandescent lamp or ceiling fixture to be certain that it will work correctly.
