Intermatic HB112C Heavy Duty Air Conditioner and Appliance Timer

Is this comptabile NEMA 6-20p/6-20 R 240V 20Amp? In the description it only says for heavy duty 240 V.
I do wish amazon had a better picture of the Plugs or the Type in the details.
One person here says it is?

does buying the incorrect item on your part really qualify as a review?
I should hope you know the difference betwen 240v and 120v, if you do not! hire an electrican.
Particular Plugs are desgined for particular applications.. ( i.e. NEMA 6-20p/6-20 R 240V 20Amp can not plug into the 120v stanard lamp outlet and helps to keep tards from burning down the house )

In the heat of summmer, I got tired of walking into my apartment at the end of the day only to have it be sweltering hot. I have a wall mounted AC with no timer so I decided to buy one. After much research and a lot of dead ends, I finally came across this product. My AC now turns on 20 minutes before I get home and my apartment is nice and cool. Make sure to search around to ensure this model fits your outlet! Intermatic offers similar models with different plug designs so make sure to get the right one. I have used this timer for over a year now and have yet to have any major problems.

A few words on how this product works, the HB112C is a simple timer that controls when a high amperage appliance (such as an air conditioner) receives power. On the face there is a 24hr clock with notches at 1/4 hour intervals where you can insert the start (red) and stop (black) pins. Each timer comes with two sets of pins that essentially allow you to turn your appliance on and off twice per 24hr period. The pins work by turning a black nob located on the front of the timer. This same nob can be turned manually at any time to turn the appliance on or off. The 24hr clock is reasonably precise but it does tends to gain time if turned on & off frequently (at worst 20-30 min over the span of a week). It is, however, extremely easy to reset the clock to the proper time.

I'm not sure what else this device would be useful for, but as an AC timer it works great. I wouldn't want to go another summer without one.

I was unable to use this item It had two vertical prongs. My husband thought it was European. Apparently you have to be an electrician to properly purchase these things.

I purchased this timer for use with our Christmas tree. After the season is over we plan to use it in the garage for our outdoor lighting control center.

I'm using this product to control and air conditioner / heater that draws 10 amps at 240 volts. The prongs were a bit flimsy and popped inside the unit when I first installed it, but I was able to pull them back out and install it and it has worked fine ever since with no problems. You can't beat the price for a unit than can handle a load like this.

works as advertised.Have used for @ 6months.Does not seem to be noisy when operating as some reviews have stated.BE SURE TO CHECK HOW MANY AMPS YOUR A/C DRAWS & VOLTAGE RATING !!!!!

I ordered two 'Air Conditioner & Appliance Timers (model HB112C)' thru Amazon.com but it doesn't fit the power plug types of my PTAC as well as power receptacle. My power plug has two cross-angled bars (one is vertical/the other is horizontal). Either Amazon.com or any information from Ambient Weather didn't have any detailed information.

So I returned and am waiting for refund in my credit cards. However, regardless whoever's fault or mispresentation in production information, they only refunds about two thirds. I also paid extra shipping charge ($8) for return.

If anyone is considering to buy this product, please contact Ambient Weather first to request the full information before making any order. Loss compared to value seems to be huge for me.

This is a 6-20p 6-20r timer to horizontal plugs and one ground. Kinda useless to me. Buyer beware.

This is for 240V and I needed a 120V HD model. Aside from that ... it seems to be well made.
