Amazon Verified Purchase
I had this surge protector on my pool equipment when my house received a large electrical spike from lightning, it worked as advertised and saved my electrical panel and pool equipment. The surge protector itself was fried!! Make sure you check it after a strike like that and replace it quickly. I keep an extra one in the basement in preparation for the next potential lightning strike.

This is a great item. Not sure if I'll ever see it work, but it's good for piece of mind.
Installation was easy. I moved a double pole breaker at the top of the panel to the bottom (just extended the wires with a twist connector). The warnings about not piggybacking off of high draw or sensitive circuits concerned me, so I added 2 individual 20 amp breakers. I have plenty of extra room in my panel and breakers are only $3.50 each, so I figured it was better to have the spd on its own circuit. I also had to buy a male and female PVC adapter along with 10ft of conduit (only needed about 8 inches of it). Because of other wires coming out of the panel knockouts, I had to extend the spd to about a foot out from the panel. Hooked all the wires up, trimmed the extra wire, and restored the power. Works great, green light is on.

No circuit panel should be without one. When you think of all of the electronic devices that you have that could be destroyed by a power surge, why take the risk? This device is what you need to help tip the odds in your favor. I live in Southeast Florida which has been called the lightning capital of the world. I installed it and so did my neighbors all over my community.

Best value around
This seems to be the best value available for its capability and price. I installed to my circuit breaker panel without any issue and it appears to be working OK.

Seems good so far
