While I love the illumination they provide at night, the construction is a bit weak. They are completely plastic, and not the PVC thickness but rather two sandwich bags put together. While this might not seem a huge problem, mowing around them and using the weed whacker can be an issue. Otherwise, the lights are fabulous. They didn't take long to install and like mentioned before, they look wonderful at night.

Arrived in box not packed all parts were more or less just thrown in there. Thought that maybe I received a returned item but everything was there. You have to have patience and be careful when assembling.

I bought this set several months ago and am very happy with the end result. The light output is good and the installation was manageable. The only reason I didnt give this a 5 was because the plastic used on the lights is not the best quality.

These are pretty good lights out of the box as long as thats the number of lights you want..assembly was easy but time consuming as there were like a dozen parts per light! Just be careful about not hooking up same kind of connecting wire (there is a black one and a white one) into the same light fixture..its hard (but not impossible) to remove the connecting wire once you put it in.
Wish the spot lights were a little more brighter, but the other ones are just fine, and the 75 ft of cable was just enough to do two sides of the driveway plus a little bit of the yard.

Great quality outdoor lighting for a low price. Easy to assemble! I would definitely recommend~!

I read all of the other reviews before purchasing this set. I decided to go ahead because I have used Malibu before. It was little time consuming to assemble the lights, but the wiring and installation was quite simple. Each light worked right off the bat. I was looking for a cost effective solution for easy flower bed lighting and this was it. I will use again!

I previously had purchased some solar lights but found that they did not illuminate enough for the pathway I needed. I find that solar lights are more for esthetic and accents than for function. These lights work great and provided the light I need. Yes, they do require assembly and this is not a job you can complete in under an hour. It took me about 2.5 hours to assemble and install this set. The price can not be beat. I would also agree that during the day, they are not the most up to date looking lights but by night they look great and provide enough light for the pathway to my hot tub. I highly recommend these lights.

Plastic body doesn't feel sturdy. Installation is relatively easy even for person like me. With below $40 a set, it's absolutely a bargain.

We bought a home that had these cheap, poorly designed Malibu accent lights installed around the perimeter of the yard and along the walkway. They have been nothing but a pain in the neck. The heads don't stay on. The caps don't stay on. The bulb/socket contact is unreliable. UV from the sun can destroy the plastic in only one season so when you try to remove the cap to replace a bulb, the whole thing crumbles in your hand, and the bulbs burn out often.


If you are looking to add accent lighting to spruce up your home to sell it, or you just like to tinker with something, then this product might be for you. If you are planning to stay in your home for a while, then you might want something more reliable. Bottom line, if you choose this product, be sure to purchase plenty of spare parts because you are going to need them.

This is a typical quick result low quality item. Don't count on it past a year. Poor construction but installs quickly so yes--the lights are nice. I have spent a little more to get a mujch higher grade==what a difference!!
