If you are doing ANY home remodeling that includes more than a single lighting circuit, I suggest you look into Z-Wave technology. I don't have it throughout my house (yet) but currently control lighting circuits in the living room, dining room and kitchen. The beauty of remote control is that you can manage many circuits without looking at a row of light switches. One in-wall switch (and a transmitter unit) is all you need. Other remote modules can be located anywhere. (I'm creating a "remote board" in my basement as I do rewiring.)

I have Z-Wave for years and find it very reliable.
