WH Timer failure
on August 23, 2013
When you have an all electric house on a time of day utility. You cannot beat what this unit does. You just adjust your schedule to make sure you have enough hot water during peak energy rates. UPDATE!!! Not even 6 months and this unit had a melt down. There was one terminal that melted out of the block and even burned the plastic shield that covers the screw terminals. Good thing this was installed to code and I kept the box closed because it was mounted on a wood wall and inside the box is smoke residue everywhere. This could have burned down an expensive house with expensive things in it. Amazon is offering a refund but with $10.24 restocking? This is ridiculous, even Intermatic has 1 year warranties. I may say goodbye Amazon, box this up and send it back to Intermatic with a scathing letter to show them what crap they make!
