This timer is very quiet when switching on and off, which can be important if you keep it somewhere you plan to sleep. It's also a breeze to program, and simple to manually switch the device on and off by rotating the wheel. The normal on/off behavior will resume after manually switching the device.

At the price I paid, there's no reason not to buy one for each device you'd like on a timer. The only caveat is that this only operates on two-prong devices. If you want to automatically power on your computer for instance (after telling your BIOS to always auto power on after "power failure,") you'll need to find a three-prong timer.

This timer works great, easy to set and allows you to have two different times of the day for it to turn on and off. I have had several timers and when the last one broke down, I ordered two of this product. It is by far the best of those I have had. I have a light already turned on when I enter our bedroom at night and the one in the family room is set for evening and also is on in the morning when I get up to read the paper. The lighted dial also serves as a soft night light. You won't be disappointed in this product.

it doesn't get much easier than this. for the price this provides the perfect timer for those seasonal activities that we all wish something was on a timer for.

I ordered five of these timers for work. We have large LCD wallboards that I wanted to increase life of. I purchased these inexpensive timers to turn them off at night and back on in the morning. They've kept accurate time and performed as expected (perhaps better than expected given the price).

Only word of caution - it's a two prong female outlet, so don't purchase for three prong cords.

This item works great and does exactly the what it should. It is silent, accurate and easy to program. Very happy about it. Ideal for those who travel a lot.

I've been using these timers for a couple of weeks now. Overall, they're very good timers for the price. However, since I've used digital timers in the past, I've realized how spoiled I am. I am having a difficult time with the accuracy of these timers. Of the two timers I purchased, one was to turn on a lamp in the evening before I got home from work. For this purpose, the timer works great because it's fine if it turns on sometime around 5pm. However, the other timer I purchased to use in my bedroom to turn a light on in the morning to help me wake up. Accuracy is key in this situation because 10 minutes one way or another can make a big difference - by accuracy, I mean knowing what time I'm setting the time for, not that it changes every day. So, I think I will be purchasing a different timer for my bedroom. I'm sure I'll be able to find another use for my extra timer. I read somewhere that they're good to use on crockpots, so I can't wait to try that now that I have an extra timer!

Easy to operate, works like a charm. This unit was cheaper than the department stores that I'd checked.

Love to know I can turn appliances on and off with these! They work well as well! :)

I rely on it to turn off my slow cooker so my house doesn't burn down. That might be stupid, and I find I'm often filled with anxiety over this. Anyway, it hasn't let me down. You work it by placing plastic "pins" at points around the outer circle that correspond to on and off times. I think there's no way to keep it from turning back on if you're gone too long. But it actually works, and hasn't let me down, once I figured out how to use it. It will surprise you what a piece of cheap plastic crap it is, but it is pretty damn clever.
