Intermediate Algebra with Applications, September 8, 2009
This review is from: Intermediate Algebra with Applications (Hardcover)
I am a high school math teacher and use this book in the class room for Algebra II. I like the way the Aufmann book is organized for the student as well as the teacher. There is not a lot of fluff, just solid examples. Each example is well explained with the highlighted math to go with them. There are windows of explaination for graphing calculator use, but the book is not overly reliant on them. Each chapter summary includes key vocabulary and definitions with examples so the student does not have to go hunting during study. The chapter summary also includes essential rules and procedures with examples that were covered in the chapter. If your a project based teacher, there are group projects. I know that the 7th edition now has more computer/dvd products available. Our school district cannot change books as rapidly as text book companies would like to sell books. This program is a solid Intermediate Algebra program that covers all areas that a student needs for College prep.
