It does the job, but i wasn't expecting a student help edition, with instructors annotations. They are really good for reviewing whether my answers were wrong or right, and the tear out formulas are good, if i forget how to use simple interest, or how to get the circumference of a circle.

This is my first purchase of a Kindle based media product. I have downloaded other free Kindle products and they have been great. This product only works on a PC/MAC or iPod and not on any Android device. The author or company needs to make a version that is compatible with Android.

I was forced into buying this book for my online Intermediate Algebra class. The first thing that struck me as strange was the cover of the book. Take a look at it. It depicts people diving off buildings in a city... no doubt, plummeting to their deaths. It is very bizarre and one could imagine this is what Algebra has driven many people to do... especially after being forced into using this textbook.

The contents within are really not that good. Even though the book seems to be geared towards online/adult learners, it is anything but easy to understand. The lessons are comprehensive and the pages are cluttered with information. Aside from the primary text, tips boxes, study aids and other such confusing nonsense is scattered all over the pages which tends to lead to fragmented reading. The text is not written in layman terms but in terms that are confusing and seem to make things harder than they really should be.

I realize most people probably don't have a choice in regards to what textbook a class uses, so are these reviews worth anything?? I don't know. Maybe teachers will read them and it will help steer their decision-making. Either way, this book is not that good. I'm sure the concepts are sound, but the presentation and text is confusing and seems to be written in a more difficult way than it needs to be.

As a student, I found this book difficult and uncooperative. Material not presented in lecture was almost impossible to "learn on your own" from the book. My professor would assign a mixed bag of problems from an exercise set, so that we would have the solutions to some and be able to check our own progress. I found that the odd problems (which had corresponding answer keys in the back of the text) were quite simple and followed the structure of the examples used throughout the chapter. The even problems, however, seemed to take a 10-degree leap in difficulty levels with nothing to compare them to. Can't wait to offload this.

Best thing I can say about it - it's hardcover and is a nice size.

What a find! My daughter needed this for her college course. The school was charging $130 for this book! We got it for less than $20 including shipping! It arrived quickly and in perfectly new condition. She'll be getting all her course books from this seller.

There is nothing wrong with the contents of the book but, i rate this 1 star because amazon has it in a new format which is totaly incomvenient if you NEED or want to use your portable reader to carry it such as the ipad or the kindle, too bad, it will not work on your devices only on the version of kindle for pc

This seller is on December 19,2010. I purchased a mathematics book .I paid for it and the has been deducted from my credit card . However, This guy confirmed many times to me I must receive my order not late than January 11, 2011. Up to now I never saw any item. I am felt up and want my money back at all cost.
