5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for Self-Study!, February 15, 2009
This review is from: Intermediate Arabic For Dummies (Paperback)
I really like this book. It has transliteration into English of all the Arabic, even in the exercises. This is good for me, since I never totally mastered the alphabet in my basic studies. It's organized into useful sections, treating the tricky grammatical topics I need to learn better. I've even laughed out loud at some of the humor he puts into the writing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Simple, April 14, 2011

This review is from: Intermediate Arabic For Dummies (Paperback)
This book did not turn out to be what I expected. The section on handwriting especially is useless. Arabic letters are written with parts above and below the line and it's impossible to figure that out from the information given because the letters are not written on lines. The rest of the sections are also very basic. I think this book would be best for travelers to the middle east. It is not of much use for students wishing to learn formal Arabic grammar.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent/Outstanding, March 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Excellent book for learning the Arabic language and this is coming from a person who is a native speaker of Egyptian dialect. I believe my children who aren't as solid in their Arabic will benefit from the grammatical explanations here.
