WD30EZRX--at least mine is. Should be noted that the warranty applies to the whole unit....I didn't see any intrusion detection device in mine. Note that there are several versions of case, this one has plastic pressure clips by the IO panel--I'm sure if you were the hulk you could pull it apart, but gently sliding a plastic card you don't care about down both sides works just as well.

I have. After the enclosure stopped working I took it apart in hopes of saving the data. I ended up using it as an internal drive for another year and a half before it finally started to die on me. It's just a regular internal connects with a basic sata cable.

Forgot to mention altogether it lasted me 5 years.
