4.0 out of 5 stars International Adoption: Sensitive Advice ..., January 4, 2000
This review is from: International Adoption: Sensitive Advice for Prospective Parents (Paperback)
It should be noted that this book deals with a single mother's attempt to adopt a child in South America. While it may be helpful to all prospective single mothers, those attempting to adopt institutionalized children from Eastern Europe will have concerns not addressed by this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars I loved reading this book., October 13, 1999
This review is from: International Adoption: Sensitive Advice for Prospective Parents (Paperback)
This book is an excellent read for the person or couple thinking about international adoption. We had already decided to adopt internationally and I found a lot of it I already knew. The stories were very heartwarming and I could really relate. If you are "thinking" about adopting internationally, this is a book you will want to read first. It will make your decision easier and you will be very happy you did!

5.0 out of 5 stars An experience I could relate to and learn from !, August 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: International Adoption: Sensitive Advice for Prospective Parents (Paperback)
As someone eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first adopted child, I found this a very valuable book, not because it was packed full of practical hints and useful suggestions, but because it described the kinds of problems, issues and feelings that any adoptive parent has. I think the fact that one of the authors was a single mother like myself made it even more relevant for me. If you are feeling bogged down the facts, forms and processes involved in adopting, this is the book to pick up and address some of those pent up emotions. It is also the encouragement you may need, from someone who knows what it's really like, that YOU CAN DO IT despite seemingly long odds !
