5.0 out of 5 stars Very good teaching and shorter reference text, October 30, 2011
By
Boko (New Zealand) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights: Cases, Materials, and Commentary (Hardcover)
This commentary on the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights references leading decisions and dicta of the United Nations Human Rights Committee, along with some material from other supranational bodies, together with comment by the three authors, all of whom are prominent human rights academics.

The coverage is comprehensive and the material readily accessible as a student text and also provides a short reference and/or starting point for more developed professional or scholarly work. It can, at that point, be usefully supplemented by the Nowak commentary, which is more detailed but perhaps less accessible, not to mention more expensive, and by the various indexing and digesting services, such as that provided by the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights.
