This is an incredible reference guide., August 26, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The International Encyclopedia of Hard Rock & Heavy Metal (Hardcover)
This reference book is one of the most in-depth works on heavy metal music that I have ever found. The entries for major bands are accurate and interesting, but the real value lies in the entries for lesser-known and regional bands. This book is a must-have for anyone interested in hard rock or heavy metal.

Guide to the Headbangers Ball !!!, March 17, 2008
The Edition of this Wonderful Reference Book that I own is from April 1986. It is the only Guide to Hard Rock and the then new: "Heavy Metal" Groups, that I have ever seen in the Bookshops. This Guide has over 1500 entries and is a valuable source of information about the Louder Boys and Girls of Rock. With America, Europe, Asia and Austrailia all included in the Mix, you are gonna get all of the Usual Suspects: {Van Halen, Montrose and UFO} but also lot's of Bands you may not be aware of in 2008: {Budgie, Jade and Talas} and some Wierd and Different Names that you had no chance of ever hearing about outside of this Book: {Cloven Hoof, Verity and Waysted}.
A brief to {often} lenghtly Bio and Recorded History of all Entries is full of information and insight that will help you right into this World, and with some Luck on your part, you will Discover some New Music and Bands you might not have known about without the aid of this Great Guidebook.
I have refered to my copy, many times over the past two decades and it has always been Right-On-Target. If you are a Fan of Metal and Hard Rock, this is for you...FOUR STARS !!!
