1.0 out of 5 stars Dr. Doom in the ivory tower, February 14, 2009

This review is from: New International Financial Architecture (Elgar Mini Series) (Vol 1 & v. 2) (Hardcover)
This book is for economists, researchers, and financial theorists. If you study Ph.D. in one of these areas, this is the book for you. It costs $600+. No wonder nobody buys it. Amazon sales rank is 2.2 million, terrible!

To his credit, Dr. Nouriel Roubini (Dr. Doom) is on TV and in the media all the times. He is always negative on economic issues. His latest blog on Rgemonitor advocated nationalization of the banking industry using the Sweden model. This idea is close to Tim Geitner's proposal in the $787 bn stimulus plan (SP) that just passed. But Tim also suggested to use government and private industry to work together. I believe SP is better than Roubini's plan.

Dr. Doom is doing OK, as a professor at NYU. He probably makes about $100,000. With publication and invited speech, he makes more $$$.

Did he give you and me any financial advise? NOOOOOOO. That is why the book is of no value.

Negativity sells the book, sells the newspaper, sells the TV shows, etc. But we do need positive strategies to get over the financial crisis.
