A great pictorial book on IH
This book combines some beautiful pictures of IH tractors up to some of the last prototype models. While many books only cover the older IH tractors, this book covers IH tractors to the end of the independent company in 1985. There is also interesting text on the background of some of the business decisions that the corporation made. These cover some of the decisions...

A great pictorial book on IH, September 24, 2000
This review is from: International Harvester Tractors (Motorbooks International Farm Tractor Color History) (Hardcover)
This book combines some beautiful pictures of IH tractors up to some of the last prototype models. While many books only cover the older IH tractors, this book covers IH tractors to the end of the independent company in 1985. There is also interesting text on the background of some of the business decisions that the corporation made. These cover some of the decisions that caused the company to fail. Don't expect a comprehensive history though. If you are looking for something that discusses some of the last model IH tractors including beautiful pictures of a privately owned copy of the final prototype four-wheel drive tractor then give this book a try.

Great Pictures, Burdensome Text, September 12, 2000

The presentation and layout of this book are striking and visually stimulating, but the text is just the opposite. From the first paragraphs, Leffingwell seems to assume that the reader knows the entire history of International Harvester, so he seems to just fill in obscure details. The text wanders forward and backwards through history and is almost impossible to follow. It is very difficult to trod through. I do not recommend this book.
