Great for Expat Issues and Intro to Global HRM
I got this book for my "Intro to Global HR" course, undergrad and it gives a good look at how a company grows from one country to multiple countries to global, as well as an excellent step by step look at expat relationships and the choices that a firm must make. It is complex, but comprehensive.

Boring
Without previewing this book, I ordered it as the primary textbook for a graduate level course I was teaching in International HR Management. The table of contents looked comprehensive and since it was written by a couple of Australians, I thought it had to be good. Not so. Without previewing this book, I ordered it as the primary textbook for a graduate level course I was teaching in International HR Management. The table of contents looked comprehensive and since it was written by a couple of Australians, I thought it had to be good. Not so. Although the field of international human resource management is interesting and exciting, this book was not. Excessively wordy and academic, it was excruciatingly boring to read. My students unanimously gave it a thumbs-down.
