Book Description

"This book constitutes the best-spent twenty minutes I've had in quite some time.” — What Book is That.

In an uncertain world there is one organization that stands head and small furry shoulders above the rest. Whenever the planet is in danger – be it from giant balls of wool or bands of renegade squirrels – only one group is guaranteed to answer the call.

The International Kittens of Mystery!

This is a journal of their stories. For the first time, cameras have been allowed into one of their top secret training camps – Training Camp Alpha. A camp where, under the supervision of pet humans, recruits are shown not only how to save the world but also how to manage their secret identities.

If you like a fun story with pictures of cute kittens saving the planet, this is the book for you.

It's a short read – about 30 minutes – and contains 75 large color pictures. Some eReaders, those without color, will display them in black and white and reduce the size of the pictures to fit their display screen. 'Kindle for PC' will display the pictures in color.

REVIEWS

“Cat pictures! Silly jokes! Adventures! Exclamation points! This book constitutes the best-spent twenty minutes I've had in quite some time.” — What Book is That.

“Hilarious! I can't wait to show this book to my sons. I know it will remain a source of fun for us for years to come.” — The True Book Addict

"Suspense! Intrigue! Silly jokes!! And cute kittens. INTERNATIONAL KITTENS OF MYSTERY has it all. The secrets of training kittens to become international superspies. The gadgetry, the secret knowledge (the power of cute) the combat practice, the mice. If you don't like cuteoverload.com or I can has Cheezburger/lolcats, this is not for you. If you know what those are I'm guessing you're ready for the INTERNATIONAL KITTENS OF MYSTERY." - Andi Schechter

"This delightful little book is a picture book for all ages. The idea is that the kittens are special ops cats, and you're in on their spy training and missions. It's short, fun, a great gift for anyone who loves cats--the pictures are adorable." - Sherwood Smith (author of Crown Duel)

“IKoM is a quick (30 minutes or so) but really fun read. I read it using a 1st generation Kindle, which only shows black-and-white photos, and the photos showed up good enough on it to be able to enjoy them in that format, so don’t let that stop you. Twelve paws up from The Kitty Krew!” — The Kitty Krew.

4.0 out of 5 stars Now I'm wondering... December 31, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Just what are MY kittens up to while they have me in the thrall of their cuteness? If you are a cat lover, you will smile, chuckle and sometimes outright laugh at this short story shedding light on a more sinister explanation for many common cat antics. This is a very easy read, with many photographs. I have a Touch instead of a Fire, so I did not get to see them in color, but even in black and white the cuteness was irresistible.
If you don't like cats or are looking for something more than a pleasant diversion, you may not fully enjoy the story. If you do love cats, though, you run the risk of being enchanted by the adventures of these "International Kittens of Mystery." Read at your own risk!

5.0 out of 5 stars The cute, it burns! August 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is desperately cute. It came upon me at a time when I was cat-free and miserable and needed a kitten fix NOW. Since I can't get more cats until early November at the latest I figure I will be rereading it early and often.

4.0 out of 5 stars What is Chris Dolley on and where can I get some? September 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Slightly less plot than the equally silly but fun Magical Crimes: Twenty-Four Inches From Tulsa, undeniably adorable photos, unbelievably bizarre imagination - Chris Dolley has done it again. I'm not 100% sure it's worth the list price (I got it for free) but it is very cute and very entertaining.

4.0 out of 5 stars adorable and amusing June 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My advice: download the sample and if you like it, buy the whole thing, because it keeps the same humor and cuteness till the end. It's a fun short story illustrated with photos of the cutest cats while they save the world without our knowledge. We have to thank the universe for the International Kittens of Mistery, otherwise we humans (aka big monkeys) would have been ruled by mice since forever...

More About the Author

Chris Dolley is a New York Times bestselling author, a pioneer computer game designer and a teenage freedom fighter. That was in 1974 when Chris was tasked with publicising Plymouth Rag Week. Some people might have arranged an interview with the local newspaper. Chris created the Free Cornish Army, invaded the country next door, and persuaded the UK media that Cornwall had risen up and declared independence. As he told journalists at the time, 'It was only a small country, and I did give it back.'

In 1981, he created Randomberry Games and wrote Necromancer, one of the first 3D first person perspective D&D computer games.

In 2004, his acclaimed novel, Resonance, was the first book plucked out of Baen's electronic slushpile.

Now he lives in rural France with his wife and a frightening number of animals. They grow their own food and solve their own crimes. The latter out of necessity when Chris's identity was stolen along with their life savings. Abandoned by the police forces of four countries who all insisted the crime originated in someone else's jurisdiction, he had to solve the crime himself. Which he did, and got a book out of it - the International bestseller, French Fried: One Man's Move to France With Too Many Animals And An Identity Thief.

He writes SF, Fantasy, Mystery, Humour and Memoir. His memoir, French Fried, is an NY Times bestseller, a number one bestselling travel book on Amazon US, a number one biography, travel and entertainment book on Amazon France and has spent over a year in Amazon UK's bestseller charts. His novelette, What Ho, Automaton! was a finalist for the 2012 WSFA Small Press Award. And his novelette, Magical Crimes, was the number one bestselling free short story at Amazon UK in December 2011.

He's a director of the author-run publisher, Book View Cafe.
