My 2 & 4 yo's both love this set. It's pretty sturdy, and the pieces allow for a variety of action. The sand crank is clever & fun. It's a fairly good value, although you can get more sand toys for the money if you get a big set at your local big box store.

I got this for my toddler for a trip to California this spring. The handle on the pail that turns to make the sand go through was a neat idea, and a couple of older children at the park found it incredibly interesting. However, one of the pieces came off the day we got it. Then my son broke the red part of the truck off its base, so we ended up tossing the truck.

Sadly this toy looked awesome online but the reality was a disapointment. The little wheel falls off and is frustrating. May be better to buy pail shovel and truck. Not worth the money paid for it.

I got this because I really wanted to get a bucket, shovels and a dump truck all at once and that is a big plus for this product. But, my daughter has never really used the sandmill - it isn't very effective... meaning the sand doesn't come out very easily. Also, I have a bit of an issue with the storage in that the pieces won't go into the bucket once everything is put together. Just make sure that you don't need a "self-storing" group of toys and otherwise it is fun. Also, very strong plastic and durable.

My 2 year old grandson loves this toy, and he doesn't even have a sandbox yet. He just loves playing with the truck.

I bought this for my son 5 years ago and now his little brother uses it. It has been outside in our sandbox everyday for 5 years and is sill in good shape. The colors are no longer bright but this set doesn't crack and break like the cheaper sand toys. They are worth the extra money!

I bought this product along with a sand table for my grandson's 2nd birthday. He loves the dump truck and the shovel. The sand mill part of the toy is hard for him to turn, though. He can't do it without assistance, so that aspect of the toy is a disappointment. He does like to pour the sand in the top and watch it come out the side. Overall it's certainly worth the price.

Got a sandbox for my nephew's 2nd birthday and had to get these to go with it... They're okay...I wouldn't pay that price for them again, after seeing them... Believe it or not, they were difficult to put together! He's enjoying them, but I wish I would've seen them before purchasing....

My son is 2.5 years and we got this for him for christmas. We live back east and were unable to use is until a recent thaw. My son spent several afternoons vigorously playing with this toy (which he loved btw) The design is extremely innovative and my son has no problem manipulating the mechanism to make this work. We find that is works best with slightly damp sand or dry sand. Well, yesterday he was playing some game or another and got carried away and threw the blue "under" bucket, it landed on the side of the sandbox and cracked. My son isn't particularly strong. I think that something that is an outside toy should be able to withstand a bit more abuse than being thrown 2 feet by a 2 year old. The toy is still usable with the bucket used only as a base, it obviously won't hold water or much sand though. I am considering purchasing another set because he really does like it alot, and it is educational in the basic principles of inertia, I just really wish the materials used were of a better quality.

Pros:

- Truck works well and can be played with on it's own.
- can be used with sand or water
- packs well

Cons:
- Won't function with wet sand
- materials are less than satisfactory and won't stand up to the abuse of a typical child
- sandmill won't funtion if any of the pieces are missing.

These were cute sand toys, but my son (16 months) didnt really know what to do with all the parts. I am sure he will grow into it more. Pretty good value for sand toys and the truck seems quite durable.
