Good for computer enthusiasts, but not beginners, July 4, 2000
This review is from: Internet Access Essentials (Paperback)
I read this book and found it very interesting. I have an interest in networking and other aspects of computer technology, so I found it a pleasure to read this book.
While it gets a little detailed and some of the material may be a little old (such as Archie and Veronica), it provides good information about the history of the internet and how it works.
I would not recommend this book for average internet users who are interested in using basic tasks such as Email, or for entertainment. I think this book is more for computer hobbyists and network engineers. However, for anyone preparing to read this book, be prepared for learning many strange names such as DNS, PPP, TCP/IP, etc...
