More About the Author

Hi everyone, thanks for visiting my page.

I'm Joe Waynick, author of the "Internet Bookselling" series of books about profitably selling new and used books on Amazon and other marketplaces. I publish the Internet Bookselling Blog at InternetBookselling.com where I post several times a week about the latest and greatest tips, tools, & techniques about how to buy new and used books and sell them online more profitably.

In addition, I host a FREE Discussion Forum called the InternetBooksellersForum.com where I interact daily with my readers who are looking for mentoring and advice on how best to run their online bookselling business.

I'm originally from Newark, New Jersey and currently live in the suburbs Phoenix, Arizona. I graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration in 2004.

I started selling books online in 2006 and quickly realized that I could earn a living as a full-time book scout while working from home. When I first started I was like a wide-eyed kid in a candy store and I've never regretted my decision to become an Internet bookseller.

After spending several years making money online selling used books from book scouting around the country, I decided that there just wasn't enough really good, high quality information about where to buy books and where to sell books, and exactly how to sell used books. So I started writing about my business and teaching others how to gain financial independence with online book selling.

Nowadays I spend my time writing about how to become an Amazon bookseller and giving one-on-one coaching to beginning and experienced booksellers alike on how to grow and expand their small business and the best way to sell books on line and maximize income.

I get asked all the time, "Joe, why do you give away so many secrets?" And my answer is always the same, "Why shouldn't I give away so many secrets?!"

We live in a global economy, and when you sell books on Amazon you're selling to book buyers all over the world. There's plenty of room for everybody. And in these tough economic times, there's no reason why ordinary people operating their own home based businesses shouldn't be able to make ends meet without struggling every month. So if you can make money using your computer, then why not do it?

Well, I've made it my personal mission to help as many people as possible gain control over their finances through my writing and mentoring. It's really that simple.

Good hunting.

I've been selling books online for more than 10 years, yet I found dozens of new tips and ideas in this book. "Internet Bookselling Made Easy!" is literally chock full of advice that will help you take your business to the next level.

Author Joe Waynick has spent several years exploring all the facets of online bookselling, and has tried just about everything under the sun to build his business volume and hone his efficiency. He relates all those experiences in stories sprinkled throughout the book. For example, at one point he explains that he became interested in dealing directly with publishers and wholesalers as a way to expand his volume beyond secondhand books. He recounts his visits to book shows, meeting with book salespeople, how he selected the books, and how long it took him to earn back the investment. That's one example of the content in this book I haven't seen elsewhere -- during a decade of avid reading on the topic. There's also great advice about dealing with customers, especially problem customers. It should be required reading for everyone who opens a selling account at Amazon, eBay, or wherever they hang their shingle.

I wish a book like this had been available when I started selling. The new bookseller can benefit from Joe's years of hard-earned experience by spending just a few hours reading this. Yet the experienced seller should give it a look, too. It's exhaustive, yet concise and easy-to-read -- a top-notch reference book. I'm glad to have it handy on my personal bookshelf.

To date, I've read a number of different books about selling used books on the Internet and so far the best of all of them is Internet Bookselling Made Easy.

Although well written and full of good advice and information, the other books about online bookselling are woefully outdated. Not so, Internet Bookselling Made Easy. Not only is the information presented well and efficiently, it is also probably the most up-to-date information there is for selling books online. Joe Waynick has done a superb job of presenting online bookselling as a possible business for the home entrepreneur. In his description of the business, he leaves no stone unturned, nor does he shy away from telling his readers that this business, though a romantic notion, is not for everyone and to start slow to test the waters before diving headfirst into the business.

What I like best about Joe's book is his honest evaluation of the tools of the trade as well as the interjection of what has worked for him as an online bookseller. Better, the book is easy to read, allowing you to plow through the material in one sitting before going back and truly putting everything Joe tells you into practice.

Some authors claim to give you the secrets of their trade when in reality all they do is rehash old, tired information that is no longer relevant to the entrepreneur reading their book. While some of the information in Joe's book is just plain old good business common sense, the rest is well worth the the price he charges for the book. As far as I am concerned, Internet Bookselling Made Easy is my Bible for starting and running my online bookselling business. You did an awesome Job Joe. I can't wait for the next one.

I was very impressed with "Internet Bookselling Made Easy: How To Earn A Living Selling Used Books Online" by Joe Waynick. What impressed me was the amount of detail Waynick put into this book, and that is it not a "get rich quick" and "you can do it" book of fluff. It is an actual guide to build a business selling books online as Waynick did himself, and continues to do. And make no mistake about it, it will take work to build a business such as Waynick's, and he tells you it will take hard work, but he also provides a guide so you know what work to do to build your business.

The "Easy" part of the title is in the fact that you don't have to reinvent the wheel. Waynick outlines how to get started, what materials and tools you will need, and how to go about making money and building a business. But again, building a business is not "Easy." Once you know what to do, and Waynick does a great job of outlining what to do, you must work hard at it to achieve the same results as the author.

With that said, let's look at what the author provides. He begins with a little about the business of selling books online and how he got started and a simple formula for doing what he did. He then goes into how and where to find books to sell. This includes what kinds of books sell the best, and the model he used and continues to use to make money. He also provides information on tools you will want it you become serious and want to turn this into a business and not just a hobby.

Next he explains how and where to sell books. There are many places to sell, and the author also goes into how to grade and list the books you are selling. There is then a chapter on finding and selling digital and analog media. There is a market for CDs, DVDs, and even older VHS tapes.

This book is a guide to success for online booksellers. It wasn't until I read it that I realized how little I knew about the business. Joe goes into great detail to explain the in's and out's of finding quality inventory, getting it listed, and taking care of customers. It's given me a whole new way to think about my business.

One of the best features of his book is the author illustrates his points with real-life stores about how he personally solved some of the toughest problems facing booksellers. Like how to get the inside track at Thrift Stores and how to negotiate bulk purchase deals with used bookstore owners. Nowhere else will you find that kind of information.

But most of all, I loved the chapter called "Business By The Numbers." It's the most thorough, and scientific approach to estimating profits and sales I've ever seen. He gives the reader a number of mathematical tools to use to estimate:

How much time you need to devote to your business to earn a specific level of income.
How much money you need to achieve your income goals.
How much time you need for scouting, listing, packing & shipping, and administration.

Using his formulas, you can virtually build and can't loose operation from scratch. He takes a lot of the risk out of starting your own business.

I've read many books on bookselling and about business in general. I can say without hesitation that Internet Bookselling Made Easy is the best on the market. If you sell books online, or if you want to sell books online, Joe's book is a must read. Without it, you are doing business with one hand tied behind your back.
