I was so pleased with this great looking guide that I will be giving it to all my friends for the holidays. It is also very usuful to beginners with the introductory chapters in the front. The short, but significant remarks for each site come right to the point; wasting no time.

I spend a lot of time online, and trying to find decent Web pages with a search engine is a shot in the dark. This book is great because it does all the work for you--it's so much easier to look in the index for a good banking site than to use Yahoo!. And it shows stuff on the Web you didn't even know was there to look for in the first place. I'm getting this for everyone for Christmas!

This beats the pants off of those Yellow Pages-style Web directories that don't quality check their listings. Every one of these sites is really great.

This is a great guide for anyone, no matter how internet savvy you are (or aren't). Very easy to find exactly what kinds of sites you're looking for, with clever, smart summaries. Also gives lots of helpful hints for navigating the internet in general.

I got this book as a gift and I have used it alot to surf sites that I didnt know existed and I'm not sure how I could have found them otherwise. The Internet Cool Guide has directed me to many great sites and I enjoy the shameless reviews! This book would make a great gift for the uninitiated as well as the more experienced surfers. Explains everything in plain english, no-nonsense language.

The book is the first that I have seen that comfortably guides a person with multiple talents, tasks and hobbies to surf the net. If I hadn't been sent this book by some friends in New York, I think I would have missed out. I have told as many people as possible about ordering a copy, so I decided to post it here in case anyone had any doubts

My first exposure to the guide was when I was informed by the publisher that my site would appear in the 2001 issue. Expecting some kind of a ploy to snatch my money, I acquired a copy. WOW, what a great guide! I'm not easy to impress and I AM REALLY IMPRESSED! Unlike all of the other hard copy and on-line guides that our site appears in, this time I am actually flattered. Its only real weakness, is that nobody has heard about it. I would will a copy every year, even if our site isn't in it.

This guide is very comprehensive, easy to follow, interesting, and masterfully put together. I fully recommend it.

In the same way that I never thought I could use a restaurant guide to aid my culinay pallette, or a city guide to explore the most explored metropolises, so was I plesantly suprised when the Internet Cool Guide could provide me with new and interesting information. With such flavorful commentary, I could barely put it down. I wouldn't send it to my neice( who is 4), but I definately could send it to my grandmother.

My disclaimer: they reviewed my Good Karma Cafe website and I paid to have my logo placed next to it. That said, this really is a nice holiday gift. The reviews themselves were not paid for, and they are short and sweet. I have discovered a number of nifty sites in it and do plan to give it for Christmas.
