More About the Author

Matt Bailey's interest in the Internet began when the release of the movie "WarGames" and his father's purchase of a Commodore 64 serendipitously coincided. Armed with this fantastic new machine and inspired by the film, Matt schemed to change his school grades, stopped only by the insurmountable obstacle of a high school that had yet to adapt this up-and-coming technology.

Undaunted, Matt became a student of the Internet in its earliest forms: BBS, ARPANET, Compuserve, and the infamous AOL disc. When he graduated from college, however, the commercial Internet was not yet a viable form of employment. Matt pursued a career in sales, patiently waiting for the day he could combine his love of marketing with his passion for the Internet. Twenty years later, Matt has traveled the world over, training businesses and marketers on how to develop Internet marketing strategies.

Matt's talent lies in his conversational, entertaining speaking style and his ability to simplify complex information, breaking it down into comprehensive, manageable steps. Last year I took on an adjunct teaching position at Western Kentucky University to teach a course titled: Marketing on the WWW. When I began my search for a text to accompany the class, I thought I had my work cut out for me. Luckily, I stumbled upon this book at Barnes and Noble. I knew from scanning the first few chapters that Matt was offering exactly what I needed to supplement my course. What I did not know was just how much this book would go on to challenge some of my own assumptions about SEM, SEO, and website design. I can say, without a doubt, my understanding of this subject is now fundamentally different and exponentially better.

Matt Bailey has done all entrepreneurs a great service by writing this book. I initially read the e-book version, but just ordered the hard copy, so I can have it on my reference shelf. Bailey's book is not only entertaining, but it keeps your interest. If you are new to the "Internet Marketing" scene, then you need to read his book. If you are a seasoned pro, then you need to read it too!

This book breaks it down and with common sense approaches to all your marketing needs. Matt gives you a break down in a five part action plan that takes 18 weeks to complete. Part 1 addresses Understanding Today's Internet Marketing and provides a holistic approach on how to do it. Part 2 tells you how to Evaluate and Research and understanding key SEO, keyword, and principles of sales and marketing. Part 3 tells you how Develop Content that Converts. Part 4 tells you how to develop Good Site Architecture. Part 5 tells you how to Expand Your Reach and Measure Results. There is plenty more, but this is a quick summary of what Matt Bailey provides. This book is well worth the price.

I have read over 15 books on Internet marketing (information marketing too) in the last year and this rates as of the best. Great job Matt! Props from Inteljim dot com!

Matt Bailey is a true, authentic, holistic authority on web marketing. Matt's approach is to take his experience and expertise and apply it for practical, tangible, results. His book "Internet Marketing: An Hour a Day" fits this useful philosophy precisely. He provides a fantastic overview on the key factors involved in successful internet marketing... then dives in to teach the details and effective steps and actions... the vital "how to" needed in order to make things happen and so you can WIN at internet marketing. This is a book you should read if you are involved with Internet Marketing, at any level. I hope my competitors never read this book!

I am very impressed with this book. I have been working in the web design industry for the past 5 years and I have always found it extremely difficult to find credible, useful, actionable information on internet marketing.

This books was different. From the first chapter I knew it was written by someone with extensive experience in the industry. Someone with a sound understanding of the basic principles of marketing and how they apply to the internet. A book that can guide you step-by-step from a total beginner to an advanced marketer.

I wish this book existed years ago and then perhaps I wouldn't have wasted so much time and resources on internet marketing strategies that just didn't really work.

Again, I cannot recommend this enough. If you want to holistic, actionable book that will greatly improve your understanding of internet marketing this should be your first port of call.

A high-charged book that cuts through the nonsense and delivers actionable tips for marketers without spare time and bloated budgets. My guess is a scan of two chapters and applying just a few tips would pay for the book 100 times over.

Internet marketing opens the door to business opportunities. It also an open door to potential pitfalls. The trick is to read Internet Marketing: An Hour a Day by SiteLogic's President Matt Bailey so you can avoid the pitfalls, seize the opportunities, and get back home by six o'clock.

Bailey's book tells you what works, what doesn't and provides a practical, day-by-day, do-it-yourself plan for success. It's the first thing that I hand to new employees to get them up to speed.

And I can't believe that I'm praising a book written by a fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes. I'm a Wolverine from the University of Michigan. But Bailey's book is that good.

So, I urge you to read it, despite the author's tendency to remind me that we'd lost "the game" for seven years in a row. But the Wolverines finally topped the Buckeyes in college football this year by a score of 40-34. So, I can finally overlook our sports rivalry and grudgingly acknowledge Matt's expertise in internet marketing.
