Let me first point out that 9 out of 12 of the reviewers that gave this book four or five stars have something in common: They only review books from Atlantic Publishing, and only write positive reviews. The reviews follows an identical pattern to another Atlantic Publishing book I purchased, "Online Marketing Success Stories." Buyer beware.

As a professional web developer and internet marketer, I can simply say that the content in this book wouldn't especially helpful to anyone. One of the biggest problems with the book is that it is written in exceptionally poor English, making it difficult to understand. Between the poor writing and deceptive shill reviews from the publisher, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.

One phrase that I would use with Miguel Todaro's book is "In-Depth". In this Internet Marketing book, Miguel leaves no stone unturned. If, after reading, studying and putting into practice his sage advice, you don't have significant new growth for your business, you can't blame the author.
In this detailed Marketing book, Todaro discusses in-depth SEO (Search Engine Optimization), Optimization, PPC (pay per click), Keywords, Ads, Newsletters, E-Mail Marketing, E-Commerce Strategy, CMS (Content Management Systems), flash and SEO. His most discussed subject is PPC (pay per click) Marketing, devoting five of his twenty chapters to it.
Todaro discusses HTML quite a bit, for those that are more than spectators or have more than a passing interest in developing their own (or work in the field of Marketing or computer languages) web pages, marketing, PPC, etc. This book is more for the professional Internet Marketer than a casual observer or beginner.
If you're wondering how to start Marketing your business or service on the internet, or are looking for a chapter or two to get a good idea of what Miguel Todaro is all about, a good place to start is his chapters on submitting your website to Internet Search Engines and Keywords. Keywords are of a vital importance to getting good traffic to your website.
These two chapters could help even the most novice Internet Marketer successfully build traffic to their website, business or service.
With as much detail as Miguel Todaro goes into, this is more geared towards other professional Internet Marketers (or, at the very least, towards those who have a more passing acquaintance with HTML, PPC and the like). I would rate this book a 5, if only for the two chapters on submission and keywords.

The Internet has transformed the way people receive and distribute information. It's also served to accelerate the way businesses try to exploit this technological advantage. Unfortunately, many companies were slow to recognize the benefits of operating online and thus were faced with the challenge of catching up to their rivals.

Internet Marketing Methods Revealed by Miguel Todaro is a useful tool to begin building a successful approach to that challenge. Understanding how to operate in the world of cyber-business requires knowledge of basic tactics, the development of an operational plan and the creativity to set them in motion. This book covers all the important areas that an Internet entrepreneur will need to know in order to optimize his or her chance for success.

The book is a well-constructed road map that includes valuable inside information, presented with layman's clarity. There is ample explanation of relevant industry terms along with tables and graphics to further illustrate important points. The reader will also benefit from links to other sources, along with recommended downloads to further enhance the learning process.

All in all, there is a plethora of interesting facts and figures. Some jargon and abbreviations may be confusing to the newcomer to Internet marketing, but they don't distract the reader from the pertinent points. Anyone looking for primer into the world of Internet marketing will benefit from this easy read.

In this book, Miguel Todaro does a phenomenal job explaining how to use internet marketing to its full potential. Todaro discusses the numerous benefits which a company can obtain through using internet marketing to sell themselves in the 21st. He describes taking advantage of the constant low cost which the internet offers, the ability to track a customer's purchase habits, the huge potential Return On Investment, and the countless other opportunities that the internet provides.

Todaro also does a great job explaining search engines and how they work. He is particularly helpful when detailing the best way to create a website so that the keywords a potential customer enters will lead them your business' website. Todaro also tells how you can analyze your competition's keywords that way you can compete more effectively against them.

In addition to that, there is an extremely illuminating chapter on how to optimize your website. Todaro goes through ten basic areas which should be addressed to ensure that your website is running at peak performance. Headlines, titles, footers, and other vital website components are addressed in this section. Also, later in the book, link popularity and the ways your site can gain greater link popularity are discussed (gaining greater link popularity will cause search engines to rank you higher when they return search results). The strategies described here are a must for anyone looking to grow their business' exposure on the internet. But, these are only a few ways that the book details on internet marketing. There is some much useful information here that anyone who is in business or is looking to promote their website should read this book.

My disclaimer: As with any opinion, it is only my opinion! And everyone's will vary depending on who reads the book and what the reader is looking for. I look for ways to improve businesses, sales, and my life. This book shares a plan to better market whatever you want to sell on the internet

On a 1 to 5 scale, 5 being the best:

Readability 4: Not the easiest book to read, but the information was relevant and helpful. It will take a little time to get through this, but this is a reference book to help guide a person through the process of marketing on the web.

Information and new ideas 5: Maybe the ideas aren't going to be new for everybody, but to someone like me, who is just starting to use the web to market, it has been very helpful. The only caution I have is that the way sites are ranked on the web, changes and will keep on changing. The book and its information will need to be updated every other year. Even the book indicates this.


Applicable Ideas 5: As I stated, plenty of good ideas.

Value 5: Very useful and a great value for the dollar.

Overall Score 5: A good understandable reference for expanding one's presence on the web.

This is a good book for a beginner. The history of Internet marketing is there and it is clearly written for a non-techie. However, I believe it is translated poorly or written by someone who does not have a great command of English. Disappointing in that regard.

Amazon charged me for the book but I never received it. In essence Amazon played middle man to theft. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PRODUCT. ONCE AGAIN DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS COMPANY!!

Excellent, methodical, easy to understand, comprehensive book! I am recommending this book to my entrepreneur students and anyone else interested in learning about internet marketing. I think this is the best book out there on the topic! Miguel if you see this - > I would love to see a power point and/or video presentation available through youtube for promotion to students.

In all fairness the content of the book is good. However, I agree with the gentleman who also commented on the writing quality of the book: it is very poor. Throughout the book the reader will come across writing errors which are always very disturbing and some other times just do not allow for proper comprehension of what the author is trying to communicate.
I would barely recommend it.

While the content is very good, the writing is poor. On every page I encounter sentences that are poorly strucutred and vague, so I cannot extract the full meaning. The author owes it to the buyer and reader to get an editor who can fix these problems before marketing a book. I would not recommend this book.
