The Singapore Internet Project (SIP) is the first nation-wide survey of Internet usage and its social impact in Singapore. Commissioned by the agencies responsible for communications and media affairs, the Infocomm Development Authority and the Singapore Broadcasting Authority, this first volume of a three-year project is produced by a team of academics from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) whohave collected empirical evidence to show the consequences, if any, of the Internet, which has been adopted rapidly by many Singaporeans (and the rest of the world) in the last few years.

About the Author

Eddie C Y Kuo, PhD is Professor and Dean, School of Communication and Information (SCI). Alfred Choi is Associate Professor, School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Arun Mahizhnan is Deputy Director of the Institute of Policy Studies. He is concurrently an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Communication Studies in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include business issues such as regionalisation of the Singapore economy, collaboration among international businesses, and development of entrepreneurship. He is also involved in public communications issues in broadcasting and journalism. Before joining IPS in 1991, he had worked in both public and private sectors for 20 years, mostly in public communication fields. Lee Wai Peng, PhD is Assistant Professor, SCI and Christina Soh, PhD is Associate Professor, SCI.
