Make sure students understand whose turf they are on when they surf the Internet for media! This one-of-a kind book provides important, easy-to-understand information on copyright laws and the fair use doctrine as they relate to Internet media. Students will also learn how to search for public domain media.
Barbara Waxer enjoys exploring communication and translation as it relates to computer and media education. Currently, she teaches Copyright and Digital Media at Santa Fe Community College and writes and edits Adobe software and intellectual property textbooks for Cengage Learning. Barbara also lectures and provides training in copyright and finding media for organizations and community colleges around the country. For many years, she worked with grassroots nonprofits, training staff to think and work digitally and has developed training programs for the U.S. Department of Energy. She has a Master of Arts degree in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese from Michigan State University, and a Mandarin Language Certificate from National Taiwan University.
