This book and the in-depth perspective Matthew Hilger provides are indispensable for playing limit holdem. Many books have starting hand charts that leave you guessing depending on the situation. Not this book. The specifics of the starting hand chart are worth far more than the purchase price. Specifically, positive expectation situations are clearly defined based on position, number of callers, if the pot has been raised, and finally, your starting hand. For the past several months I have used this starting hand chart in combination with John Belori's limit book's guidelines Twenty-Five Absolute and Undeniable Truths About Texas Hold'Em: It's Texas Hold'Em in a Nut Shell to rake fewer but FAR LARGER pots than ever before. The combination of techniques and hand charts have worked equally well in both live and online games. On a side note, I recently returned from the opening weekend of the L.A. Poker Classic where the profits from the limit cash games more than paid for the entire trip. FYI: Matt Savage did an incredible job as tournament director!
