The website (located on the back cover) is great and gives the chapter overview, flash cards for vocabulary, and quizes for each chapter. I found it a great study source. The book was easy to understand, and very interesting. It gives examples of key ideas that are modern and easy to relate to. There are practice tests at the end of each chapter and most vocab is in bold font. Overall one of the best text books I have used!

Most text books are usually dry, and not an enjoyable read.
This book really surprised me, as it is enjoyable, easy to read and laid out in a way that makes it interesting without being overwhelming.
The author does a good job of presenting multiple sides of each area and formats the book in a nice way.
Highly recommended.

I taught from this book from January through May and it got decent, but not great, reviews from my students. McGraw Hill provided solid support for instructors. I don't know if I'll be using it again, but I'm glad to have Floyd's insights for the next class I teach on this subject.

Not that my life is turned around by reading this book, but I definitely took a lot from this book that I can apply to my social relationships and to myself. I ordered it for a class and ended up reading through the entire thing before the assignments for each chapter were even released. It's a fantastic read and I love how succinct and detailed Floyd is in his writing and his explanations. I've always been the level-headed advice-giver in my circles of friends, but this helped me to provide some more thorough backup for my arguments and suggestions, and gave me more insight into how to handle individual situations. It definitely did what it wanted to do, and improved the way I communicate with others.

I truly wish that they made ALL Americans read this book during high school, because the information in it is stupendous and invaluable. And if more people read books like this and applied what they learned, we'd be dealing with a far less volatile and egocentric society. :)

This is a great book for the Interpersonal Communication class. I received the Teacher's edition but it was still fine.
To me, this was not a boring book, it had a lot more insight than i originally thought.

Most of you will want to buy the student version of this. I may still buy the student version. Until then, I cannot recommend one version over the other. So my rating is based solely on the quality of the content.

The book covers communication in ways I had not previously considered. At times, I feel it may be too in-depth. However, those times are infrequent and short in duration.

But you cannot beat the price! I bought two books this semester for under $20!
