Now in its Third Edition, this practical guide successfully meets the needs of pulmonary physicians, respiratory therapists, and nurses. Filled with tables, graphs, and illustrative cases, the book helps readers fully understand the clinical utility of pulmonary function tests.

This edition includes new information on the forced oscillation technique for measuring respiratory system resistance. Also included is a discussion of measurement of exhaled nitric oxide, which is becoming useful in the study of asthma. Other highlights include nearly fifty new illustrative cases and current American Thoracic Society/European Respiratory Society Task Force guidelines on standardization of pulmonary function testing and interpretation.

This review is from: Interpretation of Pulmonary Function Tests: A Practical Guide (Interpretation of Pulmonary Function Tests (Hyatt)) (Paperback)
This is an excellent resource for the office based physician who is not a pulmonologist and wants to do pulmonary function testing in the office. It is well written, easy to understand and has many excellent examples.
It is also concise and to the point.
I recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Book, March 11, 2011

This review is from: Interpretation of Pulmonary Function Tests: A Practical Guide (Interpretation of Pulmonary Function Tests (Hyatt)) (Paperback)
I bought this book for my training as a fellow in pulmonary and critical care.
It explains this important test (PFT) in a way that is easy to read and remember.
Many cases at the end to help you master your learning.
Many fellows borrowed it from me and were pleased with it as well.
If you want to be confident in PFT and do not have much time to read textbooks about it, then this book is just for you. It is more expensive than other PFT books on amazon. I do not know about the cheaper ones, but this one is great, easy, simple, with a lot of explanations that I doubt you would struggle with a PFT reading after finishing this book.
