Dream On,
By Bill Crider (Alvin, Texas) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Interstate Dreams (Paperback)
Interstate Dreams is a helluva book. It's about Dreamer, a guy who has a little piece of steel in his head and who can walk past any burglar alarm ever made. It's about big-time crooks with big-time plans for new advances in genetic engineering. It's about Austin and Houston; it's about Mexican food and tropical fish. It's about a lot of other things, too, every single one of them worth reading about. The writing in this book sings. It's the kind of writing that makes other writers think about taking a sledgehammer to their word processors or going outside to take a kick at the cat. I enjoyed every sentence in this book. Best fourteen bucks I've spent this year.

Ribs and DP,
By Mark Graham (Rocky Mountains) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Interstate Dreams (Paperback)
I get to review this book for the DENVER ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS. I am going to tell my readers that INTERSTATE DREAMS is the best book I've read this century. It purely is. Okay, the century isn't very old yet, but the standard has been set. Here is the best description I can think of for Neal Barrett, Jr.: Mark Twain on an acid trip. I mean that in a good way. Buy this book and buy several for your friends. They'll love you forever. I don't usually write these things for Amazon, but someone needs to. So what are you waiting for? Go eat some ribs, drink a DR. Pepper and read INTERSTATE DREAMS.
