Acid Mothers Temple - 'Interstellar Guru & Zero' (Homeopathic Records) 3 1/2 stars, November 20, 2010
This review is from: Interstellar Guru & Zero (Audio CD)
Another decent work from the Japanese space-noise rock coming your cosmic way from the Acid Mothers Temple camp. Like other AMT releases, this disc has just two tracks. First, there's "Astral Projection From Holy Shangrila" (18:38) where it's taylor made for the headset - but for several reasons, it's not much different from many other Acid Mothers efforts. Has some lyrics that repeats itself at the beginning but after about eight minutes, it sounds a bit like a mutated Led Zeppelin song. Then, we get the lengthy title cut "Interstellar Guru & Zero" (39:02) for the good of an all-out fully bloomed psychedelic freak-out with the heavy space-noise rock element apparently put on hold. CD comes housed in a thin cardboard holder - in a specially cut - fold-out cover. Similar to a die-cut album, but of course - in the compact disc version.
