Synopsis from author's website:
ReVamp's hottest Vampire Rehabilitation Specialist has been burning moonlight looking for a cure to what's ailing the blood supply in Crimson Bay, California. The mysterious infection is causing vampires to hit the streets and act like...well...a bit like Dracula when he's cranked out on venti mocha vamppuccinos. Neither her arranged marriage on the blood-smudged horizon, nor the threat of shutting down her clinic can tear DYLAN'S eyes off the prize--proving once and for all vampires aren't blood-lusting primal creatures. The last thing she expects while prepping a newborn for coven induction is to be spun for a wet and wild loop by the muscle bound vampire she finds beaten to a pulp and sprawled out on her bed.
Little does she know, the shape-shifting goon squads dead set on oppressing vampiric rights have a dark trick up their flickering sleeves. They've sent a sheep to sleep amongst the wolves...
Shape-shifter by birth, assassin by rank, and vampire by damned unfortunate circumstance, SLADE just wants to penetrate the coven of leeches, complete his risky assignment, and high-tail it out of there. Despite himself and shape-shifting law, he's fired up; ready to take Dylan six ways from Sunday....with a Blood-Blasted cherry on top. When Slade's next target is unveiled to be Dylan he must make a choice: complete his task and assassinate the love of his life, putting an end to the vampire uprising or die a traitorous death at the hands of his shape-shifting brothers and kick-start all-out war.

My Review:
Slade is a therian (shifter) assassin. His new assignment is to infiltrate the local vampire haven posed as a vampire.

Whoever wrote the blurb on this book did it a real disservice. Not only does it fail to really tell you what the book is about, but it does not reflect the tone. It comes off as this quirky, kind of light, self-referential vampire book. But it's really a sexy paranormal romance with a creative twist on vampire and shifter world building.

Slade is a therian assassin. Or at least, he was, until he failed at a mission nearly a century ago. But suddenly, his leader drafts him back into service. He has to use his shapeshifting ability to pose as a vampire. He'll infiltrate his enemies' khiss to secure some ancient scrolls, then take out a mark who will be identified later.

Almost right away, his path crosses with Dylan. She has devoted her life to running a blood clinic for vampires fighting their bloodlust. She was chosen to help indoctrinate Slade into the khiss. And from the first moment, they were drawn together in a fiery attraction. Unfortunately, she is informed she must mate with another vampire... a man she doesn't love... a royal. But Slade is determined to find a way for her to avoid that fate. The two work together to find the scrolls, which might not only provide a way out for Dylan, but may even show the way to end the long war between their people.

There was alot going on beyond the main story, but the world building was clear and easy to follow; and I never had any trouble keeping the characters straight. And the romance was sexy. There were some pretty good twists... and a surprise at the end. (I'm happy to say that this is one Epilogue that features neither a token wedding sequence or a baby.) The author also builds in a solid set-up for a sequel featuring Dylan's friend, Ruan. And I'm looking forward to it. A little more than 4 stars.

I bought this book after seeing the reviews it got on Goodreads. I don't usually read paranormal romance, but I was curious about this one. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. It's well written and fast paced. Definitely worth reading.

Intervamption is a fresh interpretation of the vampire genre, with a little bit of shapeshifter and magic thrown in for good measure! Don't let the sample fool you this is not a light-hearted comedy, but more of an erotic thrill ride. If you don't read a lot of paranormal romance, you might find it a little hard to follow, but lucky for you the author included a helpful "glossary of terms" these are the paranormal terms used throughout the story, making it easy to follow. It was a fast-paced fun read, that gave new interesting twists to one of my favorite genres. I instantly got sucked into the story where vampires and "therians" live among us, and the characters popped to vivid life for me off the page, which is easy when the physical attributes of the main characters are sexy and steamy. The heroine Dylan is not your typical skinny blonde barbie, but a more "real woman" built kind of vampire-gal, her love interest is a smoking hot shapeshifter named Slade (which I must admit is not a favorite name of mine and one of my only complaints), I can only hope that they will be making repeat apperances in the next installment of the series. Overall, money well spent, and a fine addition to anyone's reading device.

This hot steamy, down right sexy book has you turning the pages in need to know more. Behold vampires are gritty and dangerous in this book and the therians aren't push overs either. Full of tension, it keeps you enthralled and has you reading for hours while somehow keeping you wanting more. I can't wait for the second book. I anticipate its release.
