This book is a great resource for specific strategies matched to your IRI results. It suggests practical strategies and intervention models to meet the needs of your struggling readers. Each chapter contains specific strategies for each component of an IRI. This is a great asset to include in your professional library for reading specialists and other professionals who administer IRIs and plan instruction based on those results.

The book is a helpful resource, especially if you've used the QRI4, which was written by the authors of this text. Includes some useful charts, diagrams, and a booklist.

Five years ago, when the 1st edition came out, I was bowled over with the amount of pertinent information that this teacher resource provided! The information shaped the kind of reading specialist that I have become. It became my bible and helped me to navigate through helping parents whose 5th graders were really struggling with expository texts....creating expository maps for their kids....helping teachers realize the importance of idea maps, etc. etc., etc.

Two weeks ago, I purchased this 2nd edition and it also has such timely, pertinent information. It is my new bible! Updated, timely. The authors have outdone themselves. Don't walk, run to your nearest outlet for this incredible resource!

This book has a lot of good ideas in it however I had read about most of them in textbooks in my previous classes. A great introductory book!

Great book used it in my literacy assessment class, very thorough on describing IRI's. My favorite chapter was regarding fluency and how fluency has been implemented wrongly (round robin reading). Countless strategies and instructional methods to improve comprehension through out the book.

Product was shipped extremely fast...I got the book before the estimated shipping date! Book was in excellent shape. I would buy again!
