5.0 out of 5 stars its a rare treat
for an interview of such honesty from a good musican is very rare to find so i think that if you want to know what a musican feels about music and about his own music buy this cd other wise if you want to listen to music buy one of there cds instead because this cd contain no music at all.

This is basically a 32 minute interview with Geddy Lee, apparently in some hotel room that is constantly interupted by the phone ringing. The interviewer does not seem to be that familiar with the music, though he and Geddy can talk about sports occassionally. The only highlight is that Geddy admits that he asks Neil Peart to refine his lyrics so that it is easier to sing. Neil's lyrics can be a bit wordy. No wonder that Geddy has trouble singing some of it, especially in some of the later albums.

The interview appears to have been recorded before the Test for Echo album, and probably before the Counterparts album. He talks about allowing Alex to explore his ability in lead guitar. As a fan of Rush's early work, it is something I sorely miss in much of their later work. When I think of guitar gods, I include Alex Lifeson amongst them.

But all in all, probably not worth the money. But it did inform me about a few things that I would have not otherwise learned elsewhere.

Too much money for 32 minutes of Geddy is very bad value for money. Do yourself a favour and spend your coin replacing some of your Rush vinyl with one of the band's CD remasters. I suspect if RUSH were aware that this crap existed they'd be very disappointed in the producers of it.

Definitely a "C minus, must try harder" for this item.

From the picture I though this interview was from the late 70's, early 80's, but it is actually recorded in 1994. Sound quality is good, but you expect more for $12.00. I have better interviews that I traded for free, but I enjoy Rush interviews so much I purchase Story of Kings(vol1) and Vol2 as well. If you have an Rush interview to trade, drop me an email.
