Tim and I were inspired by my journey into self-publishing in February 2012. I found lots of books to help me with the technicalities of self-publishing, but what inspired me and helped make my own books successful was reading the stories of authors who'd been there and done it. I wanted to learn from the masters and find out what tools and techniques they used to ensure success. I knew it wasn't down to luck, but hard work and I wanted to get it right.

As my own books hit the bestseller lists, I began to be asked how I'd done it and what advice I could share. That's when the idea for Interviews with Indie Authors hit me. I knew that different authors had very different stories and strategies, so why not collect them all together and publish them to help newbie authors? The book was born.

This book is fascinating! So many fabulous tips for Indie authors. If you're thinking about putting your baby out into the world, read this book first. It will light the way with sound advice and encouraging ideas. It is really inspiring.

This book caused me to have at least two distinct physical reactions. First, I couldn't let it out of my hands until I had read the whole thing, and second, it put me right back in my seat in front of my computer with new ideas for story lines swirling around in my head! I'd say a book like this is a "must read" for any new indie writer/publishers. It is full of helpful and practical information from so many authors of various genres, that somewhere between their stories, websites and blogs, the urge to get back to writing just takes over.
I found it interesting that as I read, distinct and consistent patterns became quite clear regarding what can work, and what doesn't. Before reading this book, indie publishing seemed a bit of a mysterious process, but now I feel I know what is required and what needs to be done, step by step.
If I were to have an ever so little peeve about this book, it is only that this book not only can't be put down, but it has brought me back to research the featured authors even further. I have been very busy visiting their blogs, web sites, and now, reading their books! Enjoyed every minute of it!

An insight into the world of independent writers. Self-publishing is the new thing, good on one hand, difficult for people that are not familiar with the tricks of marketing.
But still better than being not published at all. Reading it, takes some of the anxiety away. Encouraging in a way.
