A favorite, but it deflated!,

My 2 year old twin boys absolutely adore this toy. We brought it inside to our family room for the fall and winter, and it has been an enormous hit (outside they were less impressed with it). They bounce to their hearts' content, run in circles around the inner edge, and even read books inside it. It is no exaggeration to say that they spent the majority of their day playing in this toy and that our house was the #1 destination in the neighborhood for other kids who wanted to come jump!My one complaint, however, is that I agree with the reviewer who said it is not as durable as the product description claims. We had ours inside for less than a month before it had a hole in the upper ring. Within another month, 6 of the 7 chambers had holes, only two of which I could find (and even after repairing them with the included repair kit, they still deflated). I have gone over every centimeter of this toy looking for the leaks, and I'm coming up with nothing. It's probably a good idea to have an electric air pump on hand to do rapid refills as needed. My kids have loved this toy so much that we will likely get a new Jumpolene soon, despite the trouble we've had with this one.

Now before it sounds like whining, this is an objective evaluation of a product that is great fun for kids but has so many fundamental flaws I don't know where to start.Let's start with "1.75-foot safety retainer wall has drain holes to prevent water from accumulating when used outside" OK, firstly, one of the three retaining wall rings burst after two days, so my retaining wall is now 1.155ft, and my son keeps falling out. Secondly, mine has no drain holes. I checked the bottom of the jumpolene before I let the kids use it, because it was obvious that any rainfall would get trapped unless the drain holes were oriented at the lowest point. No holes. Whatever. The weather forecast was good so it went outside. The next morning it had about 2 inches of rainwater in it. I tried to tip it up, and it was about the weight of a Buick. Close inspection revealed that there are two small airflow holes between the curved bounce cushion and the spiral support chamber underneath that. These presumably allow air to flow between the cushions. They also allow water in, and there is now about 400 pounds of water trapped INSIDE my jumpolene. We managed to manouver it into a position where the water could begin to drain back into the main ring so we could bail it out with a bucket. Obviously if there really were drain holes this wouldn't be necessary. Does mine have a manufacturing flaw, or is this a bad product description? I spoke with an Intex customer service rep who didn't actually know what the product was - I could hear her leafing through paperwork and telling me they didn't sell trampolines. She went on hold to talk with a supervisor who suggested leaving it in the sun to evaporate the water. Nice answer! The supervisor promised to call me back in a few minutes..... yeah right. In summary, this is a great idea for a toy, but lousy execution. Maybe I have a bad one, but less than a week after purchase I'm ready to slice it up and toss it in the trash.

My daughter takes gymnastics and tumbling to strengthen a weak ankle. Her coach suggested this type of product for the home to help further her progress. It has been great..in no time at all she was jumping on both feet and has gained strength and control in her weak ankle. The sides make it virtually impossible to fall out making this product very safe for preschoolers. I love the fact that it gives her a chance to burn up some energy while helping her physical therapy. It is great for coordination improvement as well.

We've had 4 or 5 different Intex inflatable products, including this one. First, this is great fun. We have it set up on some foam and vinyl "exercise" mats downstairs. Our son plays on it to the point of wearing himself out after school! In that regard, it was worth the money. But, I've been unimpressed with Intex Products manufacturing processes or quality control.Particularly in the seams and valves failing early and often. It isn't that the vinyl is easily punctured. The sealed seams between each section just fail! We've never had any of their inflatable pools or toys last more than one season ( a summer, for example, on a Intex pool) or less. You need to weigh the price versus the longevity of use. They do make a lot of different variations of inexpensive to moderately priced inflatable items that are fun for kids, and no other manufacturer I've found matches that. They also seem to send replacements fairly easily in honor of their warranty. I wouldn't hesitate to contact them even to the point of several replacements to cover the warranty period if that's what it takes to get true value out of their product. We also have a portable compressor on hand to refill the air compartments easily.

It Deflates Constantly!,
By
This review is from: 80" x 27" Jump-o-Lene (Toy)
I bought this item for my daughter (who is a 34 pound 3 year old) in October. The first day we bought it, we inflated it and she jumped around in it for hours. The following day, the center deflated. And it's been like that daily ever since. This has not even seen outdoor use; it's been in our playroom for the entire time we've owned it and the only thing that goes inside is my daughter. There is no reason for this thing to leak - I could understand if it had contact with sharp objects of any kind, but it hasn't. It deflates every single day, and we have to find and patch holes, then re-inflate it. It's a pain in the butt. I give it 2 stars because my daughter loves it when it's working, but I'm sorry we bought it for her. The toy should be more durable than this. Save your money and find something that doesn't leak.

Terrific indoor toy for preschooler,

We bought this toy for my 2.5 yr old about a month ago. He has sensory integration dysfunction and the jumping helps him to get the vestibular input he needs (rather than jumping on the couch, bed, etc).He has uses it nearly every day so the we have already gotten our (...) worth. There are some parents who complain about leaking - we've not had that problem at all. Now, keep in mind that my son is only 26lbs and he is the only one jumping in it. That could be a factor. Also, it says it could be used for outdoor purposes but I don't think it's sturdy enough for that. The 'inner rim' that kids can sit on - I think this is a misleading statement by the manufacturer. My son is small for his age and his tiny butt can't fit on the rim! I have bought other Intex products (pools) and this one has been the sturdiest so far. I've only re-inflated it once since we bought it. Also - for those of you thinking of adding plastic balls to make it a ball pit: this can be expensive. We already had 400 balls and when we put them in the jump-o-lene, it scarcly covered the bottom. I had my in-laws bring over their 200 balls and that helped to cover the bottom, but it didn't create the depth that you will find in ball pits at ChuckECheese's. So, if you want to use it as a ball pit (we are) you'll need 800-1,000 balls. That sounds like a lot, but we have 600 balls in there and it sure doesn't look like it! Overall, terrific product and well worth the money!

Two-year old loves to bounce!,

We purchased this toy for our two-year old son's birthday and he loves it. We set it up in the living room and it takes up quite a bit of space, but it is worth the inconvenience. He loves the big outdoor trampoline that he has at his grandparents but that is pretty dangerous for a toddler. This is very safe and he can jump regardless of the weather outside. In the spring we can take it outside on the grass and have some room back in the house! I would recommend this to anyone who has the room or is willing to take it down and put it back up regularly.

I ordered one last year and zone 4 and 6 didn't hold air. I had no problem returning the product but this review is for the actual product. I ordered one again in November and zones 2,5 didn't hold air. Very poor product in regards to quality control.

My two year old & four year old loved their jumpolene. However, after three months of use, several of the jumpolene rings developed leaks. Since the children did not use any toys or other objects while in their jumpolene, the leaks developed simply from use. I would certainly keep this in mind if you are looking for an item that you would want to last for a long time.

everlasting fun and a great theropy toy,
This review is from: 80" x 27" Jump-o-Lene (Toy)
I have to say that I am surprised at some of the reviews. I bought this after we went to a family reunion where my aunt had a jumpolene she kept permently inflated and stored in her garage. She has had it for a year or so and never had any problems holding air in it. I have three boys who are under the age of four so it has taken its share of beatings and yet to have any problems with it. Our oldest son is autistic and loves to jump so this has been great for him. As for problems in other reviews of it retaining rain water, easy solution don't leave it in the rain. And problems with small leaks after six months and a years time, give me a break, if it only lasted one month I would consider it worth the money!
