100 pcs Fun Ballz

Amazon.com

Whether your ball pit still has its original complement of balls, or whether half of them have been squashed, lost under the couch, or chewed up by the dog, you can't go wrong buying a couple of extra. Intex's bag contains 100 balls in assorted bright colors, each measuring roughly 3 inches in diameter. The balls are simple to use: just pour them into the play pit, add the children, and stir for many hours of fun. --Richard Farr

Customer Reviews

75-90% of the balls were dented.
Ashley M Davitt
They came in the plastic bag as shown in the picture, and they all came in perfect shape - no dents or crushed balls.
chopedogg
They're bright colors, lightweight, nice size.

These balls did not retain there "round" shape from the minute my 2 1/2 year old daughter played with them. The balls have that "smashed in" appearance and you cannot get them back to the original shape. I purchased these balls to add to the ball playland made by the Moose Mountain Toymakers, Ltd that I purchased for my daughter for Christmas. The balls that were included with the ball playland have retained their shape, unlike the balls I purchased separately.

My only real gripe about this product is that these balls are inconsistent in quality - some are made of thicker material than others. But that's not really a problem, for me anyway.

These are, whichever way you look at them, thin plastic balls. They will crush, ding, dent or otherwise loose their perfect roundness if you let anything heavier than say, another plastic ball, collide with them. I mean, would you expect an egg to be able to cope with a three year old child jumping on it? No. It's an egg.

However!

If this distresses you greatly, you can resurrect them by warming them very gently with a hairdryer. Or as I did, leave them next to a heating vent.

I placed an order for 1000 of these, they arrived in bags of 100, some rectangular bags, some cylindrical bags. The last 300 arrived loose in two boxes (150 balls a piece). I called the manufacturer and they explained why this may happen... They ship bulk. If a box can be filled with 150 balls, it will cost the same as shipping with a bag of 100 balls and the box 1/3 empty. They use common sense - ship more in a box for the same price and SAVE YOU MONEY.

The bags these things ship in are meant to hold plastic balls. They will not hold up well if you choose to constantly pack and unpack them. They will not hold up well if you use them for anything other than storage. I'm thinking I will not want to repack 1000 balls into 10 bags anyway.

When I called the Intex customer service to make sure the balls were phthalate-free, he was VERY helpful in teaching me how to ensure a phthalate-free product on the UPC code if the lable doesn't mention it. Also, Intex has a separate warehouse for phthalate-free products to minimize mistakes. I was very impressed with the customer service and will use Intex again.

I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the balls. Out of the 100 balls, only 19 were in good condition. The other 81 were soft and dented. The balls actually seemed to be made of two different types of plastics. Most of them were a soft, thin plastic. A few, mostly the ones in good condition, seemed to be made of a harder plastic.

I contacted the manufacturer about my disappointment. A representative called me the same day she received my letter! She said I should send some balls to their warehouse and they would replace them. I'm about to do that now. I'm curious to see what the quality of those balls are.

Even though the balls are dented and soft, both my 1 and 3 1/2 year olds love playing with them in their tent! They don't care at all about the shape of the balls.

I ordered these balls for my daughter after she had discovered them at a birthday party. The colors and size are perfect for her small hands. She loves them! I love them too because they are Phthalate Free! I even called to make sure they were Phthalate Free and the representative was very helpful.

One of the main reasons I picked these balls for my kids' ball pit was that it was advertised to be phthalate-free. But when I got the product, I couldn't verify that information anywhere on the packaging or on the balls themselves, which makes me fairly certain that they are not. The only thing I learned was that they were made in China. I'm very disappointed with Amazon for not verifying the "product features" that are listed on its site. If you're thinking of buying this product because it's phthalate-free, don't bother.

A definite must if you are purchasing a ball pit. The number of balls they come with isn't enough to really have fun. When the pit is full, the kids can dive into it without getting hurt. Just know that you'll be picking up balls for days! A small price to pay though when you see how happy it makes them!
