With having very light skinned boys I was thrilled to find this. However if the wind was blowing at all the velcrowed top would fly right off. I wish it attatched a little better. But with perfect weather it was fine. It is very sturdy and holds a lot of water. My 5 year old loves it.

I was very disappointed in the sun shade-it would not stay on! I would have been better off just buying a cheaper pool without the sunshade since we never got to use the sunshade. It was also very hard to blow up even with a electric pump and a major pain to drain. Save yourself a few bucks and buy a similar one without the sunshade!

This was our first pool purchase. Beforehand, I read the reports here about the sun shade blowing off but felt I really needed one for my 2 year old. We live in a windy area and found that by turning the shade so the wind would blow through it, rather than into it, we had no problems with it blowing off. The problem I did have with it was an air leak in the lower chamber and a cracked plug upon purchase...Summer of 2002 we'll try something different. My son loved it though and so, for the money, it was all worth it. But what a pain having to put more air in it every day.

Like many other reviewers, we bought this for the nice and handy looking sun shade .... well, it's been a couple of months now and I had to blow up the top part practically every day to make it somewhat stand up on its own (and this is not the most userfriendly 'blow-up toy')... the pool part is great, big, sturdy, edges not too high ... but the shade is probably going to get the boot since it is more annoying than anything else.
Buy a cheaper pool without a shade and invest in a real umbrella if you require shade .....

One the first day the velcro that holds the shade together had come off. We tried everything to keep it on - nothing worked. After giving up hope on the shade we just delt with the pool. The pool itself was ok. After having the pool outside for one day we found it completely deflated on the grass. My four year old was devastated. To save yourself the hassles with this pool I would suggest purchasing something else!

We bought this pool in the summer of 02 for our 3 kids. It was the first inflatable pool I have ever bought that made it through the entire summer, and we still had it to put back up this year. The shade stayed on great, and kept the kids from getting so hot in the sun. This was a great buy, I would recommend it to anyone. When mine wears out, I will buy another one just like it!

we have had this pool for three years is roomy enough for my twin daughters and a few friends. It withstands alot of horse play. Good value and the shade portion was great when they were little.

I bought this pool for my son and he likes it very much - the pool itself is very durable - yet the cover doesnt stay on very well- even on days when it is slightly more than just breezy- the cover rips off from the velcro it attaches to and blows away

When I purchased this pool I thought it would be great to keep the sun off the kids. I blew up the 2 pieces with a electric pump and the canopy would not stay full of air and it was too heavy to stay up. They only have velcro to hold it in place. I ended up throwing the canopy away because it was a waste of time. The pool itself was awesome. It held up to a typhoon when it was full of water.

We got this pool the summer of 2000 for our 1 year old son and contrary to what others have said - we made it thru that summer AND 2001 and 2002. I do agree with other reviewers that if it is a windy day the shade flies around the backyard!
