I have had the Intex 56673EG 14-inch sand filter pump for a month now and I am completely satisfied. I am useing it on a 10 foot above ground round intex type pool.
What you need to know is, the pump comes with the Hose Conversion Adapters kit for Intex 1500gph and 2500gph so there is no need to purchase one, the pump works great, it's easy to install, and the timer works great.

I bought this to replace the catridge filter because it only took a day or two for the catridge to get dirty enough that it wouldn't run my skimmer very well. I was taking it out everyday and rinsing it out, and putting a new one in every week. All this takes is 50 lbs of filter sand($10) and the power is more than enough for any pool 20' or less. I've been using it for about a week and the power is still there. I love this filter over the catridge filters these come with. Well worth the money spent.
UPDATE: I have used it for 2 months and still love it. And a helpful tip, if the pressure goes down on the gauge it is probably something blocking the water flow. Mine did and there was trash in the little grid piece that goes through the pool wall. Took me awhile to realize that it could stop up in there. Anyway, 1000% better than the catridge filters.

This filter is way overkill for my 16x48 ultra-frame, but I got off cartridges for two reasons. #1. They would clog up & my sanitizer wouldn't work as a result & #2. I got tired of buying/replacing cartridges. There are nearly 30 pieces to this filter, seems intimidating reading the setup instructions but it actually only took me about 10 minutes to figure everything out on my own.

Works on Summer Escape pools too.
