5.0 out of 5 stars It does what it needs to do; it covers your pool
I've read all the criticism of the Intex pool covers. Most cite the small holes on the pool cover as a big, big problem. Others cite the inability to pull the cover tautly over the pool. Neither criticism is warranted.

1.0 out of 5 stars Holes ???
The other reviews would have been helpful if I had seen them. The picture nor description show that the new product has several small holes and one big hole (with screen)in the center. I had a previous cover (without) holes that worked great. I presume the holes in the new version are to prevent drownings, but no explaination is given. The new version tends to sink,...

5.0 out of 5 stars It does what it needs to do; it covers your pool, August 16, 2002

I've read all the criticism of the Intex pool covers. Most cite the small holes on the pool cover as a big, big problem. Others cite the inability to pull the cover tautly over the pool. Neither criticism is warranted.

Having a few small holes on the pool cover does permit some water to seep into the pool after a rain -- but the holes are small and leaves still won't get into your pool. Having those handy little holes, however, makes removing the cover easy to do EVEN AFTER A RAIN. Without the holes, a potentially large amount of water would rest on top of the pool cover and you'd have to be Superman to lift the water-filled cover from off the pool. Intex wisely added the holes to their pool cover for a good reason.

As for the rope ties -- who needs them? I live less than two miles away from the ocean and we get a strong ocean breeze even at my house, but the pool cover is large enough to easily fit over the pool and stay put, even without making the rope ties taut. I suppose in a gale storm, the cover might come off -- but in a gale storm, you've got bigger problems to worry over. The pool cover stays on the pool just by draping it over the surface of the pool water.

The pool cover keeps debris out of your pool water and helps liquid chlorine to stay in the water longer. If you're worried about evaporating pool water because of those little holes, don't; any evaporation is undetectable.

The other reviews would have been helpful if I had seen them. The picture nor description show that the new product has several small holes and one big hole (with screen)in the center. I had a previous cover (without) holes that worked great. I presume the holes in the new version are to prevent drownings, but no explaination is given. The new version tends to sink, allows water to evaporate, and allows dirt to get into the pool. It is better than nothing, but I prefer the old version. My reaction may have been different if they had bothered to change picture and / or desfription.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pool Cover - fits like a glove, July 14, 2009

We've been very happy with the pool cover that we ordered. It fit the pool we have like a glove and has held up so far. It has gotten a bit bleached out color-wise, but that's just from the sun and pool chemicals and doesn't affect the functionality of the cover.
One great thing about it is that it has small holes pre-cut in the cover itself to allow water to pass through. So, when it rains you don't end up with a bunch of water standing on your pool cover.
Overall, we're very happy with it and will continue to buy Intex products.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pool Cover Stays On!, July 19, 2008

This is a good swimming pool cover for my 8 foot round swimming pool. It actually stays on the swimming pool. We have had some big Thunder/Wind storms here and it has stayed on the pool. It's easy to install and has a rope string to keep it tight on the pool.

It does have some holes on the top, that's to let the rain water go through so it doesn't stress the cover or pool. Works pretty good and doesn't let much dirt or bugs in the pool when covered. Very pleased with the pool cover.

Side Note: Intex isn't a very good customer service oriented company. I bought the pool at the end of last fall to use this summer, and put it up a week ago for the first time. To my dismay, it came with a hole in the air pocket at the top from the get-go. They said since 90 days had gone by, I'm out of luck. They don't stand behind their products. Why would I have put up the pool last fall just to take it down the same day? Intex gets a failing grade, customer service wise from me, but the pool cover passes.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's ok., May 12, 2007

This pool cover does not keep all the dirt out, because there are small holes in the center of it that the dirt come through, but it is better than nothing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Cover, June 23, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Intex Easy Set 10-Foot Round Pool Cover (Lawn & Patio)
Fits perfectly, even on different brand pool. The rope is already threaded through the cover so it's easy to pull over and tie tightly. The material has been quite durable so far and the cover is holding up very well overall. Great price too!

1.0 out of 5 stars Pool Cover - 15', June 11, 2001
By A Customer
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
The picture of the cover is a little off. The cover actually has a few small holes in the center and a few more closer to the edge which lets rain water and some dirt through. Overall it does it's job. If you have a 12' pool the cover works but will hit the ground it's sooversized.

Regarding the holes in the cover they are there a reason. i'm sure
If dirt gets in........ Try this
I went to a craft store and bought a large package of toole
It works the same in your pool as your net when your cleaning
Put it on first over your pool Then put the cover on
NO BUGS, NO DIRT I have the 8'ft pool which I love
So one pack works great But I keep a spare just in case
As long as its underneath the cover it works well

My cover from last year needed to be thrown out at the end of the season, so I bought this one. It actually fit, which surprised me since a lot of the reviews said their's didn't. But here it is June 12th and the darn thing is ripped along a seam already!!! I guess I'm better off buying a tarp since I'm NOT going to buy another one of these!
