4.0 out of 5 stars Can't run the pool without it., September 30, 2009

The pool won't connect to anything without it, so you need it. that said, I buy new plungers each year. they crack and are hard to lift up by the end of the summer. But heh, they are cheap and pools come with maintenance responsibilities. buy yourself a spare set so that if yours cracks, or becomes too difficult to lift up, you can simply change it out. You'll be glad you did. Search online for best price. Some vendors overcharge. You are in a rock and a hard place. You have to have these. So, they do work, and are just part of maintenance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intex plunger valve assembly, July 4, 2011

We bought our Intex 18' x 48" pool 4 or 5 years ago. The plunger valves became very hard to move last year as the seals were worn out. The force required to open and close them caused the brittle plastic handles to break so we had to use pliers until the new ones arrived.

I was a little nervous that the size would not be the same as the older plunger fittings after reading others' reviews. These new ones fit perfectly and are better made. The plungers are very easy to open and close. If you are in the market to replace yours, I highly recommend purchasing these with the hose connection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, August 7, 2010

This review is from: Intex Plunger Valve with Hose Connection
I have had my intex pool (16 X 48) for a year now and after moving my pool earlier this year one of my plungers started to be hard to move up and down causing me difficulty shutting off the hose in order to clean the filter. I decided to order another plunger and boom my problem is solved. The plunger went on perfectly, no leaks, no issue and worked immediately. I did end up getting new hoses because the plunger worked like it did in the beginning, and my hoses had started to leak with the old plunger. I figured if I was going to change one thing out then I should just fix everything, I would recommend getting the plunger and hoses and changing them immediately when you have a small problem so you don't end up having a larger one.
