I'm 5'3" and was 140lbs at the time of birth and this pool was the exact size I needed. The side walls are high so stepping in and out was done with caution but became a huge benefit while laboring. I had no problem with the position of the drain. I didn't even notice it during my labor. It retained both air and water the entire labor and birth. The thickness of the material felt sturdy and I saw no issues.
Aqua Doula was a close second only because of the heater and the cover but the sides were uncomfortable and the bottom wasn't cushioned at all. Birth Pool In A Box was inflated similarly and had handles but I didn't even use them. The inflatable bench/chair was pretty useless since I kept sliding off of it! Both options were expensive, even for a rental.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone desiring a comfortable birth pool!
I can't wait to use it as a play toy for my new baby when he gets older. It's sturdy enough to use as a playpen (with supervision, of course) and then a pool when he's old enough!
Original Review, 3/17/2011: We were considering all the birth pool options on the market, all fairly expensive. To rent one locally would have cost $200+. Found this option on Amazon.com and even with several positive reviews from other waterbirthers I didn't expect much. But, the price was right, and I bought two (an extra in case of issues with the first). Our baby girl was born just yesterday in this model pool. Based on our experience, I highly recommend this pool. The sidewalls are (just like BPIAB) very supportive (held weight of momma and midwife leaning over with no issue) and are made up of 3 separate chambers (I couldn't determine this before buying) which gave us confidence in the event of a leak in one or more of the chambers.Read more ›

This was a great pool, as many others I used it for a home birth and it did the job well. The cushioning on the bottom of the pool is perfect. Read morePublished 1 day ago by SSS
I used this in July 2015 as a birth pool when I had my son at a home birth. It was easy to blow up and was very comfortable. Highly recommended, at least for home births. :)Published 12 days ago by H. Hill
Better than the birthing pool at the birth center! Putting another one in my cart for baby #2!Published 13 days ago by Hayward
I was going to use this pool for my son's birth but he was born to quickly. We had done practice runs though. I had noticed people having trouble with the stopper. Read morePublished 21 days ago by Nikalia Kyles

As for most people posted it's not used for "swimming" but used for a home birth. It was such well money spent! Absolutely not a single complaint. Read morePublished 27 days ago by Jaime
This pool had a small leak somewhere when it arrived. Is served it's purpose for my daughter's birthday party but it was disappointing that it was damaged.Published 29 days ago by Kindle Customer
I got this pool to use as a birth pool at my home birth. I didn't end up using it during labor because the water made my contractions hurt more. Read morePublished 1 month ago by chris t elvidge
