Praise for Jodi Ambrose's books:

"Jodi Ambrose reestablishes a connection between oft-mystified partners by revealing emotional necessities integral to the understanding of the differing sexes. Remarkable in their accessibility, both books avoid jargon in favor of practical-living advice. These books won't do the work for you, but they will give you the tools to get the job done yourself." --Philip Rosenberg, Host of Sex and Politics Radio

"Jodi Ambrose's books should be required reading for every clueless man and woman who does not understand what can make their relationships "click". Her books are not about blindly going along with what your partner thinks is right. Instead, Jodi Ambrose shows you simple ways to easily get in harmony with your loved one." --Joey Pinkney, Award-winning Book Reviewer and Author

"When it comes to starting a playful yet important conversation about sex and intimacy there's no need to go any further than books by Jodi Ambrose. Writing with both women and men in mind she covers all the bases of what it takes to develop the kind of relationship you want."
--Cyrus Webb, host of Conversations LIVE/Editor-In-Chief of Conversations Magazine

Jodi Ambrose has once again hit it out of the park with her latest book. As with her previous book, it is an equally enjoyable and informative read for both genders, and provides insightful, to-the-point, and highly effective advice and practical strategies for strengthening the bonds within an intimate relationship. If your relationship is stagnant or troubled, or even if it's great and you just want to make it even greater, this is the book for you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny but not for the Faint Hearted December 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
By reading this book you have to agree that you really do want your relationship to improve. And it is going to mean changing how you do things.

The male brain does not have to be a dark mysterious place. We women can figure out fairly easily what men want and don't want. With that said this book presents a list of things a woman should not do which will keep her man interested in her. For example she shouldn't forbid her man from having his friends over. Instead she should participate, make food and supply drinks. This will make her man feel proud of her. Now this goes a little farther because you then tell your man that after the war, I mean game you will watch a movie and snuggle. This is called a manipulation tactic which is actually just a fun way to get what you want.

Basically this book is about how to be a more pleasant partner. Along the way there are a few laughs.

I'd recommend this to the woman who has just gotten married. I say this because habits are hard to break and a lot of the tips in this book would be great to follow as soon as you get married.

5.0 out of 5 stars How to get a near perfect relationship June 29, 2012
I brought this book as I had brought Jodi Ambrose's other book - Sex: How to get more of it. Sex: How to Get More of It: A guy's roadmap to paradise, in and out of the bedroom The SEX book is aimed at men showing them into the minds of women, whereas Intimacy: How To Get More Of It is aimed at women and having a peek into the men's mind. Jodi, once again, is very funny and straightforward in her writing, making it easy for anyone to read.

Some women may look at the book and think "Bog off! I'm not doing that!" but by reading further, you can see what the author is explaining, and being a man myself, I can see a lot of what she says as being true.

Again, some parts are laugh out loud funny, and sitting in my living room reading this book and suddenly bursting into laughter made my cats jump. There is a list of 20 items, and each of these is expanded on well, to explain what is meant.

If you are a woman ... BUY THIS BOOK!!!!
If you are a man ... BUY THIS BOOK!!!! (for your woman)

and don't forget to buy her other book as well

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a Must Read For Anyone in a Relationship! June 19, 2012
By Tawn
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is insightful, funny and full of excellent advice on how to improve your relationship with your man. It's informative as well as highly entertaining.

The author has a fresh, frank approach to intimacy issues, and I laughed my head off reading her lists of things not to do. I don't want to give away any spoilers. Let's just say she is spot on about what men don't want to hear from a woman.

It's obvious the author has a lot of experience with relationships. She has put a lot of her own observations and thoughts into this. That's the best kind of advice book, one that is written by someone who knows firsthand what works and what doesn't.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Manual on the Man October 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
"Intimacy: How to Get More of It", by Jodi Ambrose, is a quick handbook full of great wisdom for a woman to fine tune her approach to dealing with the man in her life. All of the info is geared towards getting more of what you want in terms of love and affection.

With "Intimacy", think less text book and more Cliff's notes. Ambrose is more like a cool aunt rather than Dr. Ruth. I like that Ambrose starts the book with a quick discussion about what this book is and what it isn't, then gives you a list of 20 items to increase the likelihood of intimacy followed by a chapter for each of the items. This makes "Intimacy" read like an open book test on the average man.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute, Sassy, fun read! July 29, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This is Jodi's companion book to the one written for guys, Sex: How to Get More of It. I read that one a while back.

I think the thing I love most about Jodi's books is they're full of personality. Ever read one of those relationship help books that made you wish you were having a root canal? I was sent a couple of these when I was working as a reviewer and believe me, it was like wading through thick pools of molasses in the middle of winter. I thought I'd never get them read. You won't have to worry about that with Jodi's books. They're full of her personality, cute, sassy, humorous, and down to earth. Easy reads that you'll whip right through and in my case, I've read them twice and enjoyed them both times. And I'm sure I'll probably read them again from time to time.

Once again, like the guy's version, this is a twenty-step list. While reading number one on the list (potty time is private time) I laughed so hard, I needed some potty time. It reminded me so much of the first year with my dear hubby. I'll be honest, I did not go to quite the extremes Jodi went to, but I was up at least a couple of hours before him every morning to get all my stuff done. Thank goodness those ridiculous, crazy days are behind me, but I'm still with Jodi on this one. Potty time is most definitely private time in my home. And that is just the first on the list. There's plenty of good fun to be had reading the next nineteen.

And girls, pay close attention to number sixteen. This deals with the trust issue. If you take nothing else from the book, take Jodi's word for this one. The lady knows what she's talking about. In my opinion it's the single most important aspect of a relationship.

More About the Author

Think of me as an ex-80s rocker chick, former high school teacher, and in your face author, all rolled into one. Yes, I donned Farrah Fawcett hair back when it was cool. I wore shoulder pads with pride and had a combination Baltimore/Virginia accent that HAD to go.

Having survived many wild experiences with a strong sense of self and a wickedly saucy sense of humor, I ended up with an axe to grind and a story to tell. Luckily, through all the craziness along the way, I took notes and it's those notes that helped me write Intimacy: How to Get More of It and Sex: How to Get More of It.

It always seemed to me that people made life so much more difficult than necessary. Pride, game-playing, abject stupidity, thoughtlessness...all of these things combine to turn good people into lousy mates. So, I paid attention. I tracked what types of behavior and language could produce a genuine smile or a rolled eye or a shed tear. What I noticed was that in most cases, people responded to stimuli in a similar way. There are always going to be exceptions, but if the rule holds true 8 out of 10 times, then I thought I could put a checkmark next to it.

For example (and this is so very obvious to women and yet somehow not so much to a lot of men), if a husband/boyfriend/lover checks out another girl while he is with his significant other, at least 8 out of 10 times the girl gets angry. She may not say anything, but I'd see her eye twitch uncontrollably, or a grimace fly briefly across her mouth and I'd know she was at a minimum annoyed, at a maximum livid. I'd immediately think several things:

1. JERK!
2. Poor girl.
3. Why would he do that? Is he mentally challenged?
4. JERK! Oh, I already said that one.
5. How does he not know that is bad behavior? Someone should tell him. I'm going to tell him.

Sex: How to Get More of It and Intimacy: How to Get More of It both take a no holds barred approach to relationships for all of the men and women out there. What can you do or not do to bring joy to your significant other? How can you "work it" so that both of you are happy and getting what you need? The titles may be blunt, but I believe in getting straight to the point. Men typically want more sex. Women typically want more intimacy, security and love. These books unlock the mysteries on how to achieve all of that in, believe it or not, 20 easy steps.

Now, as for writing the cookbook...who would have guessed?? I've spent the vast majority of my life trying to avoid cooking! Then I met my hubby Grant who loves nothing more than spending 3 hours in the kitchen concocting some amazing dish that makes my mouth water as soon as I smell it. I must admit, that concept is as foreign to me as enjoying a root canal, but he simply loves cooking up a delicious meal.

When I began contemplating writing a cookbook, it occurred to me that Grant and I couldn't be the only couple in the world that is made up of one cooking lover and one cooking hater (disliker? avoider?). And then, ah ha! That thought sparked an idea. How about if I write a cookbook that is half-written for people who enjoy spending time in the kitchen and half-written for people who wouldn't mind never entering it again. That's how Darn Good Eats: The Cookbook for Creative Chefs (hubby) and Reluctant Cooks (me) came into being. I figured this way, the cookbook would be perfect for anyone as it contains super easy recipes and fantastically complicated ones too. So whether you love to cook or hate it with a passion (but have to do it sometimes, even if it is against your will!) this cookbook has recipes for you!

Regardless of which books you get, I hope you enjoy them and that they make life a bit brighter, happier and fun. Hugs!
