5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE this book!
Within these pages, lie some of the most profound and crystal-clear insights I have ever read on the subject of love and what it really means to be intimate with yourself and with another. 3.0 out of 5 stars Osho? Never heard of him...
I was directed to this book by a friend at work who said the book helped her with intimate relationships. I am a Christian, so I was a little leary of "venturing out" of the ordinary authors to find advice on intimacy. I found a lot of what Osho said about intimacy very sensible, realistic, and applicable to most all people who have problems with becoming intimate with...

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE this book!, January 4, 2004
This review is from: Intimacy: Trusting Oneself and the Other (Paperback)
Within these pages, lie some of the most profound and crystal-clear insights I have ever read on the subject of love and what it really means to be intimate with yourself and with another. In a world frought with false images and personages, seeing behind the masks we wear is vital to the health of our relationships and ultimately to the quality of our lives. Only an enlightened being such as Osho is capable of expressing so articulately what lies beneath the surface in our encounters, what is real and what is unreal, and how best to nurture ourselves and each other. Everyone--in any sort of relationship--will benefit from the wisdom in this beautiful volume. This book is one of my all-time favorites!

5.0 out of 5 stars Only if I knew this three relationships ago!, March 10, 2005
By
This review is from: Intimacy: Trusting Oneself and the Other (Paperback)
It's never too late to learn to love and be loved! This book was enlightening - it helped me to understand myself within an intimate relationship and also how I relate to all people. Some of what you will learn: you must first love and accept who you really are to love another..live in the moment not the past or future...to trust another (the ultimate respect one can give) you must first trust yourself...love does not possess...be insecure in love NOT secure (security will never satisfy you!)...live life like a child...it's okay to be selfish...love doesn't think in terms of uglyness or beauty...it is rare to find a person that totally fits with you...don't be in a hurry to marry...spiritual harmony is most important in a relationship. The book is very well written (Osho does not write to impress) and full of wisdom! You will never be the same within a relationship after reading it, I promise!

5.0 out of 5 stars Intimacy From the Inside Out, April 21, 2004

Osho writes with such brilliance, and brings fantastic analogies and examples of people who long for intimacy, and simultaneously destroy it. People that are searching, be it for spiritual growth, career growth, or material success, they are searching everywhere but within.

Through this fantastic book, you will learn how to trust yourself to be vulnerable with yourself first so then you can share genuinely with another.

You will learn how to define what you love, and how to embrace this moment, create the relationship you have with yourself, so you can then RELATE to another. There need not be a ball and chain around your neck, and this book will help you to see that if anyone has been preventing genuine and authentic intimacy in your life, it is you, and your fears. Through this book you will learn how to uncover them, and get to know and truly love the REAL you, so you can then love another and feel safe, comfortable, and free at the same time.

Osho's writing style is tremendously enjoyable to read. His wisdom is profoundly enlightened, and this book will truly help you uncover much about yourself in the relationship department. Highly Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars After reading it myself.. I bought more copies for family and friends, August 5, 2005

Osho is the greatest, and this is one of my favorite books of his teachings. He is so wise, and helps in so many different ways for me to see the ego I am living in which makes me anxious, gives me shallow thinking and breathing, and prevents me from seeing the world as it really is, ie. in the present moment, instead of colored by the past, or by thoughts of the future.
This book focuses on how living in our usual mind sets keeps us, through fear and ignorance, from intimacy with ourselves, with others, and with the Earth and the Universe itself.
I have given copies to my two adult children and a close friend and they seem to enjoy the book as much as I do. It is one you'll read over and over.

4.0 out of 5 stars great book if youre in a relationship, March 8, 2010
This review is from: Intimacy: Trusting Oneself and the Other (Paperback)
i was in a relationship where i was giving so much and not getting anything back when i picked up this book.. even though it isn't really a "relationship" help book or gives any sort of advice for relationships like the one i felt like i was in, it really helped me realize my priorities and reevaluate what i was getting out of myself and my boyfriend. it mellowed me out to be more in tune with him.. and i realized i didn't have to give so much!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, August 10, 2008
This review is from: Intimacy: Trusting Oneself and the Other (Paperback)
Another enriching collection of Osho's thoughts. How can one love another without first loving themself? How can one trust another without trusting themself? So often we look outside ourselves when the answers have been within us all along.

4.0 out of 5 stars the dilemma, April 9, 2010
This review is from: Intimacy: Trusting Oneself and the Other (Paperback)
Our biggest issue is trusting ourselves. I we can't trust ourselves how can we possibly trust another. So Osho explores the dilemma we have within ourselves of trust. How much we fear ourselves, how little we really understand ourselves and how this then hinders us from having that intimate relationship. again he has funny stories that help illustrate what he is trying to teach. A much easier book to read than Love, Freedom and Aloneness.

1.0 out of 5 stars this book is Osho's justifications for sexual abuse done by him, October 13, 2009
This review is from: Intimacy: Trusting Oneself and the Other (Paperback)
i read this book without knowing much about Osho. I thought it was a very idealistic book, but at other times it was subversively convincing the reader to abandon civility and formality, and to dive deep into sexual relations with just about anybody you fancy. This is Osho's definition of intimacy, apparently, is to forget about STD's, your conscience, or humanity, and screw with whoever you want, whenever you want, irregardless of that person's age or marital status.

Later I found out that Osho was the leader of his own personality cult that seeks to destroy everything "society" stands for, and create a "new and better world in which all people are free" read that as "free to do as they please, according to how Osho sees fit" Osho himself has been accused of sexual abuse of the young women who were his followers during the 60's and 70's. do some research and you will see what I mean. THis Osho guy is an egoist who used pie in the sky, fast talking and idealistic gestures to get women in to bed with him, and to live off of those who mistook him for a "spiritual" teacher.

This, and Creativity, are the only books of his I made the mistake of buying. I only had to read the forward of Creativity to realize that Osho really is about crafting his own cult, with himself as the chosen leader who will guide all of humanity into a shining era of "freedom" from the "chains" of society (from civility and responsibility to others, that is)
