Intimate Invasions,
By Danielle (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Intimate Invasion: The Erotic Ins and Outs of Enema Play (Paperback)
I had the pleasure of reading this book both in the prepublication stage and the final version. I found M. R. Strict to be able to delve into the reader's mind and explore many aspects of the enema curious and also experienced enema enthusiast. Purchasing this book is exciting and once you open it, you can be assured of not putting it down until every last word has been read and.......reread so that you can expel its contents into your life of fantasy or reality.

Straightforward examination and exploration of Klismaphilia,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Intimate Invasion: The Erotic Ins and Outs of Enema Play (Paperback)
Intimate Invasions: The Erotic Ins & Outs of Enema Play is a straightforward examination and exploration of Klismaphilia, a type of kinky sex that despite its taboo, can be both erotic and safe if done properly. Author and experienced practitioner M. R. Strict addresses issues of psychology, physiology, and personal safety with regard of using enemas for foreplay, role-playing or sexual pleasure. The use of stories from people who have shared Klismaphilia experiences clearly illustrate this guide, which is not only an introduction but also a solid how-to manual. If one is going to undertake Klismaphilia for consensual sexual fulfillment, it is above all vital to follow safety guidelines - but whether one intends to personally undergo the experience or simply wishes to learn more about it, Intimate Invasions is not to be missed.

Why I Disagree with "Doc",
By M.R. Strict (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Intimate Invasion: The Erotic Ins and Outs of Enema Play (Paperback)
There are two kinds of enema lovers - those who find enemas erotic in a regressive/submissive setting, and those who eschew such settings in favor of purely "cleansing" or "erotic" activities. I am guessing that "Doc" falls in the latter category, and so I am not surprised that my writing does not appeal to him. But even so, I take umbrage at two of his statements: that there is no useful information in my book; and, that my book contains "lame fantasies."
Thus, as to the ostensible lack of information, there are in fact several chapters on the basics of enemas, how to give them, what they feel like, etc. This information is more than enough for 99% of the people who would be interested in the subject. As to my "lame fantasies," well, I've been giving enemas for about 18 years, so let's not be hasty in concluding that what I write about is all that fantastic. As to the "lame" claim, my writing may not be to "Doc's" tastes, but "lame" is a word that, quite frankly, I've never heard used to describe my work. Tristan Taormino just recommended the book in her yearly holiday gift guide in the Village Voice ... and there are plenty of other fans of my writing. But why listen to me? Go and read some of my stuff on www.intimateinvasions.com and decide for yourself.

A Starting Point,

I would have to straddle the post here. I found this book to be much more basic than I had previously thought it would be given the community audience in which I found it. It lends itself wonderfully to those that are new to enema play I believe, which is a wonderful thing: in that I'd love to have more happy enema folks to share this interest with. However, as an enthusiast from way back, I found it personally boring, super basic, and far behind my scope of play possibilities be it the reality or fantasies within. But then I have done a large amount of reading on this topic prior to picking up this book.
* Newer to enema play: read the book, it'll be helpful and give you some starting points. * If you've been doing this a while: spare yourself the money and time.

My husband and I have spent hours poring over the salicious stories in this TREASURE. There are a couple chapters that serve as a guide for the enema inclined (different solutions, how to administer, etc) and also a good chapter on the morals involved in any BDSM activity. The erotic stories are very well written and make the book difficult to put down. I love to read it while I EXPEL. We are both huge fans of M.R. Strict after enjoying this book, and we are ANXIOUSLY awaiting a sequel!!

I enjoyed this quick and easy read. It was full of useful knowledge as well as a few wonderfully written erotic tales.

This is considered erotic play?,

You will see in another posted review that M R Strict is indeed quite impressed with his own work. This book does contain some useful information, and the author goes into excruciating detail to describe the scenes and fantasies he writes about. If your idea of "erotic play" involves the use of enemas as a part of severe, humiliating physical punishment, then you may enjoy reading this book, although the internet is loaded with similar stories that are free. However, if you are more interested in giving or receiving enemas as a part of a caring intimate relationship, you'd probably be better off buying something else. Even better still, take some time and write your own story for your lover. You'll enjoy writing and he/she will enjoy reading it. Yes, I did read the whole book and, like another reviewer, I'll be destroying it soon.

I have typically found Greenway Press publications to be very insightful and extremely good at dealing with topics that others are unwilling to even recognize the existance of. As such, I had great hopes for this book and anxiously awaited its much delayed release. Unfortunaltey, rather than containing perspective and helpful analysis, this book was filled primarily with the author's incredibly lame fantasies. I only got half way thru this book and actually threw it away. I have never done that before. Don't judge Greenway by this book. Most of their stuff is FAR better.
