Caught this on Comedy Central when it premiered last night -- he's got great delivery and some quick, nonsensical joke as well as elaborate stories. Some great lines and it's definitely worth listening to more than once. 3.0 out of 5 stars I had fun listening
I've heard funnier comedy albums, but don't miss the point of Aziz's debut album. Intimate Moments is entertaining and you will enjoy listening to his stories. His jokes are ok, but the narratives are stunning. The bit about his cousin and glimpses into his personal life make one feel that Aziz is on the sofa, speaking just to you.

I was excited to learn of...

Some great lines and it's definitely worth listening to more than once. I will say, though, it's often funnier to watch Aziz's eyes bulge out cartoonishly, so maybe you'd prefer the DVD if you didn't see the censored and slightly edited performance on cable. I think the best part of the whole thing is the storyline about his cousin who he torments on Facebook.

This also includes the Raaaaaaaandy! segment.

I loved it all!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Comedy, January 19, 2010

This album is hilarious, overall. What I mean by that is that not every joke caught me laughing my guts out, but I did at least chuckle. Then there were the big laughs sprinkled all throughout my listening experience. I really enjoyed the parts with his stories on meeting R. Kelly and Kanye West.

I'm giving this 5 stars because while its not the best comedy album I've ever heard, it's certainly one of the best comedy debuts I've listened to. With a little polish, I'm sure Aziz will shine bright on his next album.

Aziz Ansari is HILARIOUS. He is funny doing stand-up, on Parks & Recreation and every late night interview I have seen the last couple weeks. This CD is awesome. I also highly recommend the DVD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very entertaining!, January 18, 2010
I don't think he's as funny when you're just listening to him because his facial expressions really lend to the jokes. I think he'd be extremely entertaining live and hope he comes to Chicago soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant storytelling, January 18, 2010

Aziz's comedy album is a showcase for the stand-up only he can do. Most of the materials are stories, showcasing absurdities he sees in modern life. Aziz sometimes points out how stupid and ignorant something is "MTV's Next" or he is enthusiastic about how bizarre an R. Kelly show is. This is comedy that comes from a great, fun point of view.

This is a solid stand up routine. Lots of original humor. His voice cracks me up, and his delivery is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars So THAT'S why he's in that Jay-Z/Kanye West video, December 14, 2011

Somewhat groundbreaking, considering this day and age. He just might be 2011's Seinfeld. Trust me, trust the other reviews, trust yourself. As the title said, I had no clue who this guy was, shy of that "OTIS" video for the throne and Complex Magazine's article on him. His material is relevant and current, which is what we need... for now

I listen to a lot of comedy. I don't say this to prove that I'm right and anyone else is wrong, but only to illustrate that it has been years since I heard a comedy album that had me laughing hysterically the whole way through. I haven't laughed so much or so hard since Daniel Tosh's True Stories I Made Up. And that was years ago now.

Listening to this album, I got the impression that these are jokes he has told hundreds of times. And when I say that I don't mean they sound lazy, like he's trying to burn through them and get off the stage as soon as possible, but rather that I really felt like the delivery was perfect almost every single time because he had "practiced" them so many times before. The emphasis, delivery, and timing are nearly flawless, and I can't think of even one instance where he made a misstep with his words.

The content on the album is fairly silly, though I'm reluctant to use that word. More to the point, the bits are mainly past experiences that he has mined the funny out of, as opposed to other comedians who do some silly stuff and some political or religious stuff. Unlike other comedians who I feel a bit "Meh" about though, his jokes don't feel lazy at all. And I think that's the thing that surprised me the most about this album. Many comedians that I enjoy seem to stuff filler into their material, or jokes that don't work that well, in between their funny bits, where Aziz Ansari leads into a funny with a funny joke.

I would like to point out the tracks on this album that I thought were the highlights, but it's almost all of them, so it might be easier just to name the weak tracks. Those being "The Simple Man Cruise" and "R. Kelly: The Pied Piper of R & B." Even those, though, are funny enough that I don't skip them when I listen to this album (and I have many times already). And really, I only include the R. Kelly bit because it goes on a little bit too long, and the end of the joke doesn't lead into a punchline.

This is one of the few comedy albums that I really wish I could go back and listen to for the first time again.

And if you are reading this, Aziz, put down your Blackberry and focus on the road.

Aziz Ansari is truly funny. Definitely geared toward an adult audience, but hilarious. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!? has become a pretty regular part of the vernacular at my house.

I first heard of Aziz Ansari through "Invite Them Up," and this album does not disappoint. A bunch of stories that are really funny, smaller jokes with classic structure and RAAAAAAAANDY at the end makes it all worthwhile.

It's $5 at the time of writing this ... get it. If it's $10 when you read this, get it. It's a solid album.
