this book suffers from an excess of professionalism: as a successful fashion photographer, baptiste has adapted too well to the demands of shooting for the editorial, and the models shown here are much too practiced in looking pretty on cue. the result is a variety of photo techniques that don't seem especially keyed to the human themes in the photos, and a variety of models who do not communicate any intimacy because they are all so obviously *posed*. helmut newtson is an obvious yet undigested influence, and any newtson collection completely surpasses the emotional impact of this book.

Simply put, this book is sexy. Although it is quite different from his first book "Beautiful" he still captures the strength,
femininity and power of being a woman. He has captured very private moments yet his subjects look stunning and not forced. It's a stimulating coffee table book even for the prudish (it may make them blush). Hats off for another great body of work.

Being a female photographer I am very keen on the word "intimate" and its relationship to women posing nude. Nude photography must be intimate and carefully done with as much sensitivity as possible. I find Marc's work to be a tad unnatural and not very intimate. I guess if it was not titled as such I could look at it with a different frame of mind!

I purchased this book for a lover as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago. He'd always expressed how it was my photograph that first drew him to me... I found this book at a store in midtown Mahattan and was became, entralled, as I flipped page after page. I purchased two copies, one for him and one for myself. I've always been a fan of Mr. Baptiste's work and can only hope to be fortunate enough to one day sit before his lens...

The other reviewrs must see something that I don't see. The photos are pretty much average. They lack style and imagination. Spend your money on somethig better.

It's ok, there are some great shots, but also some so so shots. I was hoping for more and better produced shots, but did not get that. I would not buy it again.

This book is very inspiring to a budding photographer like myself.
Gives great ideas.

This is a great book because it deals with real people and not just models. You get to see the female body in all aspects and get to appreciate the female nude from a truly amazing photographer.

This would be a great coffee table book as long as your guests are not taken aback because of the nuidity.

This is one of the worst examples of nude photographic art that I have ever seen. It is so bad that I even couldn't bring mysel to try to resale it so I threw it into the garbage can where it belongs. I could write a whole book about how bad it is but I don't want to waste the time. IT IS TERRIBLE FROM AN ARTIST PROSPECTIVE!!!!!!!
